✅100% better than Zero…How to Stick with Exercise. 👍
Most people don’t exercise at all. It’s human nature to be either “all in” or “all out” when it comes to things. This is why I strongly suggest to Everyone who wants to live a healthier, better life that one gym workout per week is 100% better than zero!
One? How can one do anything? Let me explain…
The biggest problem with exercise is sticking with it long enough for a habit to form. This should be your main goal initially, not results. Most people can stick with one workout a week. After sticking with it for a few weeks your confidence will begin to build, and this is the other essential ingredient to making exercise a habit!
With confidence and experience in the gym, your subconscious mind will start to “like” going to the gym and you’ll be surprised with how less busy you are and able to find time to go to the gym another day and/or add at-home walks or bike rides.
Exercise always makes you feel good and when you feel good you have more motivation to make better choices in all areas of your life!
Also, the great thing about strength training is that even one day a week is shown to help maintain muscle as we age. Whereas cardiovascular exercise should be done several times per week to have the most benefit. I tell people the recipe to live a healthy disease-free life is simply this:
1. Go to a gym and do strength training at least one day a week.
2. Do something active daily: walking, biking, etc.
3. Eat Healthy 80% of the time.
4. Decide to live peacefully and optimistic
For anyone who thinks “I don’t have time to Exercise” I encourage you to reconsider this thinking. One good workout per week is 100% better than zero and will keep you FEELING strong and help maintain your motivation to stick with your other healthy and good intensions, even beyond eating and exercise.
One workout per week keeps your health from deteriorating and finding yourself in a deep rut that can be very hard to get out of later. So whether you make your one weekly workout Wednesday afternoons or Saturday mornings, stick to that one workout a week and soon it will become a habit, and you’ll find yourself looking forward to your workouts because of the positive impacts you’ll experience in your life.
See you in the gym!
