Welcome to Sparta!!

Please welcome Lindsey Hunter, former NBA player and veteran coach, as the new Head Coach of the Sparta High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team.

Coach Hunter brings with him a wealth of experience from his 17-year NBA career, including two NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons. After his playing career, he served in multiple coaching roles, including as the interim head coach of the Phoenix Suns, and more recently, head coach at Mississippi Valley State University.

Coach Hunter is passionate about mentoring student-athletes and developing both their skills on the court and their character off it. His commitment to discipline, teamwork, and excellence aligns perfectly with the values we strive to instill in our athletic program.

We are confident that Coach Hunter will inspire our students to reach new heights, and we’re thrilled about the future of Sparta Basketball under his leadership.
