Temperatures are getting HOT the next few days. But remember: warm weather doesn't mean warm water!

Many of our popular waterways in the Puget Sound area stay at an average of 60 degrees year-round and that's pretty chilly! 🥶 Cold water shock can affect even the strongest of swimmers. Be sure to check the temperature before you jump in or at least wear a lifejacket.

Because this event takes place on and around the water, the safety of our participants, performers, volunteers, and staff is our highest priority. We are currently working to secure a new date later this summer and will announce it as soon as it is confirmed.

Hot weather alert 🌡️ — but here's the thing nobody talks about: Warm air doesn't mean warm water.

Cold water shock doesn't care how good of a swimmer you are. Today's sunshine is a great excuse to get outside but just be smart about it.

If you're looking to cool off in our local waterways, be sure to grab a lifejacket, check the water temp, and head to our SwimSafe site for everything you need to know before you swim. 🏊

Come on out to Spanaway Park tomorrow, May 29, from 5-8 PM for a Free Community Car Meet with the Pierce County Sheriff! Open to all car makes and models. Enjoy free admission, parking, food trucks, and a chance to meet local deputies and fellow car enthusiasts. Don't miss out on this fun evening!

Join the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office for an evening of cars, community, and connection!

This Friday, May 29th

5pm-8pm (participation vehicles need to arrive by 4:30pm)

Bring your ride, check out vehicles, meet deputies, and enjoy a fun friendly atmosphere.

-Food Trucks on site
