Since I talk so much, I might as well make a series out of it 😂

✨ Are you training as an athlete or an artist?

The answer should be both.

Aerial requires strength, conditioning, mobility, body awareness, technique and control. But it also requires artistry, musicality, intention, expression and the ability to tell a story through movement.

You need the athlete to build the body that can safely execute the skill.

You need the artist to know what to do with that skill once you’re in the air.

Both are important when creating a strong, well rounded aerialist. And that’s exactly what we love teaching at Akasha.

Over a decade of experience teaching, performing and continuously learning has taught us that there’s so much more to aerial than simply learning tricks.
