It's official β€” the 1.75" Shad-O is NOW AVAILABLE! 🎣

I've taken you along while this bait went from an idea, to a custom design, to the first pours, and finally out onto the water.

And most importantly β€” it's catching fish.

Now you can get the Shad-O for yourself at SmokeneckBaits.com.

Available in multiple Smokeneck colors and ready for crappie, bass, white bass, and whatever else decides a 1.75" shad looks like lunch. 😎

The 1.75" Shad-O is getting closer to the website, so I needed to get some colors poured for product photos! 🎣

This batch included:

πŸ”΄ Smokeneck Red
πŸ’₯ Cherry Bomb
πŸ₯› Monkey Milk
🦚 Peacock
🧊 Blue Ice
πŸ’š Emerald Green β€” still needs a name!
πŸ”₯ Campfire

It's pretty cool seeing the new Shad-O go from a custom design to an actual lineup of baits.

I've already been getting some fish on it, so now it's time to get these photographed and onto SmokeneckBaits.com.

Which color would you throw first?

And if you've got a good name for that Emerald Green, let's hear it. πŸ‘€

The new 1.75" Shad-O is already putting in some work! 🎣

I designed this little bait with crappie in mind, but apparently nobody told the other fish. πŸ˜‚

This time the Shad-O picked up two different species β€” a largemouth bass AND a white bass.

That's exactly why I like getting these baits out of the shop and onto the water. Looking good is one thing. Getting fish to eat them is what matters.

The Shad-O is earning its place. πŸ‘Š

I was fishing when I noticed something strange floating down the river...

At first, I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. πŸ‘€

It looked like a clump of grass just drifting along β€” except something wasn't quite right.

Then it got a little closer...

What would you have guessed it was?

I've been doing a lot of experimenting with smaller crappie-style jigs lately... and the bass apparently didn't get the memo that they're for crappie. πŸ˜‚πŸŽ£

I've caught bass using the Smokeneck Fry, the new Shad-O, and now the **2.5" Fuzzy Ball** with a jig spinner.

Today's Fuzzy Ball setup produced this chunky **1.75 lb largemouth**.

I'm starting to really like these smaller presentations. Sometimes downsizing is all it takes to get a bite.

And that's exactly why I test the baits I make instead of just making something that looks good in a package.

The new Shad-O is getting the Smokeneck Red treatment! 🎣

This is my new custom-designed 1.75" crappie shad, and for this pour I went with one of my own colors β€” Smokeneck Red.

I've been looking forward to seeing this color in the Shad-O, and I really like how these turned out.

The Shad-O was designed to put plenty of action into a tiny 1.75" profile made for crappie and other panfish.

Now comes the part that really matters...

Getting them on the water and making them earn their place in the Smokeneck lineup.

What do you think of Shad-O for the name?

This one has been a while in the making... 🎣

My NEW 1.75" custom shad bait for crappie is finally here!

This isn't just another mold I picked out of a catalog. I worked on the design specifically for Smokeneck Baits, including the body profile and tail designed to give this little bait plenty of action.

There's something pretty cool about seeing an idea go from a design on a screen to an actual bait sitting in your hand.

Now comes the part that matters most...

It's time to see if it catches fish.

Because looking good isn't enough to make the Smokeneck lineup.

Another one on the board! 🎣

This one came in right around 2 poundsβ€”not a giant, but a solid bass and another good day on the water.

A quick look at the fish, then right back in the water to grow a little bigger.

Sometimes you just have to experiment. 🎣

I put a 2.5" Smokeneck Fuzzy Ball on the jig head, added a Cherry Bomb 2" Fry behind it, and decided to see what the bass thought.

Apparently, this little 1.25 lb largemouth approved. πŸ˜‚

The Fuzzy Ball has been an interesting bait to figure out because it doesn't really fit neatly into the "bass bait" or "crappie bait" boxβ€”and maybe that's the point.

This combination definitely earned another trip to the water.

Would you fish a Fry + Fuzzy Ball jig?

08/20/2026

I had to try this one... πŸŒ™πŸŽ£

I took Cherry Bomb and added glow-in-the-dark powder to see what would happen.

They look like Cherry Bomb in the light...

But what happens when the lights go out? πŸ‘€

I'm not giving away the answer. You'll have to watch and see for yourself!

Would you throw a glow-in-the-dark Cherry Bomb?
