Today, we join our community in remembering Earl Clewis, a true pioneer of king mackerel fishing in the Southport-Oak Island area.

Earl's passion for the water, his love of fishing, and his contributions to our local fishing heritage helped shape the coastal traditions that continue to bring people together today. His legacy will live on in every boat that heads offshore and in the countless stories shared at the docks for generations to come.

We are grateful for all that Earl gave to our community and the lasting impact he made on the sport of king mackerel fishing.

To Earl's family and friends, we extend our deepest sympathies during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the many lives he touched and the memories you shared.

Fair winds and following seas, Earl. May calm waters carry you home. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
