Proudest Monkey by The Dave Matthews Band is one of my favorite tunes when I'm in the mood to reflect on things I can not change while switching focus to the things I can change. It's pretty spectacular how music can take our minds elsewhere; prompt our bodies to move...its very therapeutic. 🌸 Movement, I live for movement. It's probably because I have such a busy mind & the energy needs to go somewhere. It may be one of the reasons I gravitate towards Kettlebells...I love how they become an extension of the body; rhythmically transitioning from one movement to the next...And while training with bells requires focus & attention to detail; it can be very ☀️Swing in this tree
Oh I am bounce around so well
Branch to branch,
limb to limb you see
All in a day's dream
I'm stuck
Like the other monkeys here
I am a humble monkey
Sitting up in here again
But then came the day
I climbed out of these safe limbs
Ventured away
Walking tall, head high up and singing
I went to the city
Car horns, corners and the gritty
Now I am the proudest monkey you've ever seen

Mobility is an essential component to a well balanced fitness program... teamed up with some awesome movers to bring attention to some useful mobility drills.

The is a 5 person collective of International Coaches, Lifters and Yogi’s who find a common core foundation in Mobility Training. Each month we are Challenging the International Community in order to bring awareness to the importance of Mobility Training, regardless of your fitness specialization.

THE COLLECTIVE:





NOVEMBER CHALLENGE DATES (Nov 7 - 11)

🔹Once per Month we will bring awareness to a particular aspect of Mobility with a 5 Day Challenge.

🔹Each coach will post a challenge for their particular day of the week Monday through Friday.

🔹Anyone can join in the challenge and try the movements.

🔹Use the hashtag

🔹Tag all the coaches for feedback and a chance to be Shoutout and Reposted.

🔹Each member of the Collective will choose a participant to Shout Out and Repost following the week of the challenge.

🔹Share the ❤️ by tagging and challenging a couple of your friends.

Me and my friend are at it again with another “Steel Mace vs. Kettlebells” and this time we’re demonstrating 2 similar moves with the Steel Mace and Kettlebells 1 move you can do with the Steel Mace that cannot be replicated with the Kettlebells.

▶MOVE 1: OFFSET ROW
The Main difference between doing this movement with the Steel Mace versus the Kettlebell is that the Steel Mace is closed chain whereas the Kettlebell is open chain. Each tool provides unique challenges to the Core and Scapular structure.

▶MOVES 2 & 3: OFFSET ROW W/Rotation & ALTERNATING ROWS

The Offset Row with Rotation would be very difficult to replicate with the Kettlebells and really there are tons of other Kettlebell exercises that can be done to target rotation. This is a move that makes the Steel Mace a valuable tool to integrate into your training.

Alternating Rows are also great. They can be done with both the Steel mace and the Kettlebells. They are an advanced movement which requires lots of Core stability as well as Hip Control to counter rotation during the dynamic alternating movement.

I ❤️ mace training . 10 & 2...15lbs. is feeling smooth, time to add more weight. Working w/ a mace makes my shoulders, back and chest feel great by improving and maintaining upper body 🌸

I don't know about you, but I often get in my own way... Time to break this habit so I can reach the goals I've set for myself 🌸 First up, my first & competition with AKA...Don't get in your own way...set a goal and enjoy the process, fore the end result is so rewarding ☀️

Pressed for time...fit in a killer 20min kettlebell workout...legs on fire!
5 rounds (each round is just under 2min with a 1-2min rest period in between)
10 2 hand clean and squat 👉 10 explosive deadlifts 👉 10 2 hand swings 👉 10 single arm swing R/L 👉 10 alt. reverse lunges ☀️

☀Do you ever take your workouts outdoors or to the local park?!? Tap into your Inner-child 🌸 - couldn't resist a post work day and session... 4-5 bodyweight pull-ups 👉 forward & back twice on bars and repeat 4 times. (NOTE: take off rings next time lol - my left hand be pi**ed 😜)
