Pequot Yacht Club

Located in Southport CT, PYC actively promotes sailing. Pequot Yacht Club was established in 1920 to encourage interest in sailing.

Since that time, members have been active cruisers and racers in the sport at the regional, national and international levels. Today, the Club supports an active junior program, a large cruising fleet, Ideal 18s, a Dyer Dhow frostbite contingent and a growing fleet of remote-controlled pond yachts. Pequot Yacht Club has remained an organization focused on sailing. While sailing is the priority, th

e Club has a social side as well, with a galley and dining room for daily lunches and evening parties throughout the year.

After four days of sailing and 10 races, the 2022 J109 North American Championship ended yesterday with Stamford Yacht Club's Emoticon in First. Congratulations!

Day three of the 2022 J109 North American Championship at Pequot Yacht Club:

Early on, northwest winds of 10-12 kts made for fine sailing conditions. However, the wind died down during the second race, and it was called off. In the afternoon, the wind came up again, having shifted to the south.

There was a bit of a scuffle at the windward mark, during the first leg of the last race. At the end of the day, PYC's Loki had prevailed and was in first place; Stamford Yacht Club's Emoticon was in second.

Day two of the 2022 J109 North American Championship at Pequot Yacht Club:

Winds varied around 8-15 kts, making for exciting racing conditions on Thursday. Emoticon from Stamford Yacht Club is currently leading, with PYC's Loki in second.
