We never thought we’d have to write a post like this - let alone MULTIPLE TIMES! 😔
Once again this season, adult behavior has resulted in children being pulled from our program - tearing them away from their teammates, their coaches, and the game they love.
This has to stop.
Our kids are the ones paying the heaviest price for grown adults who can’t control their emotions. When parents fight, scream, threaten, or storm off, it doesn’t just affect their own child. It ripples through entire teams. Teammates are left confused and heartbroken. Coaches who have poured their hearts into these players all season watch their rosters get dismantled. And the small group of volunteers who give up nights, weekends, and family time are left exhausted trying to hold it all together.
We have reminded, warned, and begged all season long for BASIC sportsmanship and decency. Yet the behavior continues to get worse.
These are children’s memories you are breaking.
To the parents who continue to act out: Your kids are watching. Their teammates are watching. The entire league is watching. Is this really the example you want to set?
We are volunteers with full-time jobs and families of our own. We do this because we love these kids - not because we signed up to referee adult drama. We deserve better. Your children deserve better. This league deserves better.
If you cannot cheer positively, support your child, and act like an adult at the ballpark, then please sit down, step away, or don’t come. The rest of us are here for the kids.
To the vast majority of our incredible families who show up the right way every single time - THANK YOU! YOU are what keeps this league going. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are so grateful for you.
Let’s finish this season the right way - focused on the kids, not the drama!
