🚨 PSA: Drowning Knows No Season 🚨

Diffusion of Responsibility is a real risk around water. When everyone thinks someone else is watching the kids, no one actually is. It happens faster than we think—mom thought dad was watching, dad thought big sis had it, but distractions creep in. Drowning is fast and SILENT.

This week, as your kids find themselves around pools, lakes, rivers, or even at a family member’s house, assign a Water Watcher. It’s a small step that can make a huge difference.

🌊 Water Watcher Tips:
NO phones, side conversations, or distractions
Be alert and actively watching
Stay within arm’s reach of young children and non-swimmers
Make sure the Water Watcher knows their role

Our little ones are worth these extra precautions! Let’s keep them safe together. 💙

🌟 Swim Skill Spotlight: Splash Ins! 🌟

This month, we’re highlighting a lifesaving skill—Splash Ins! 💦 Splash Ins are a self-rescue skill that teaches swimmers how to safely respond if they fall into the water unexpectedly. S

plash-ins, taught in ParentTot, Toddler Transition and Beginner 1, which set the stage for more advanced self-rescue skills. Splash-ins also help swimmers build confidence entering the water, allowing them to progress to Jump-ins!

Wishing you a spooktacular holiday filled with fun and treats! 🍬✨ Here are some tips to keep your little ghouls and goblins safe:

👻 Label Costumes: Add your name and phone number to your child's costume in case you get separated.
🎃 Proper Fit: Make sure costumes fit snugly to avoid trips and falls—skip the loose or long pants and dresses.
⚔️ Safe Props: Choose short, flexible props like wands or swords to prevent injuries.
🖌️ Facepaint > Masks: Facepaint helps kiddos see their surroundings better, so skip the masks for extra visibility.
🚦 Street Safety: Always cross streets at crosswalks or well-lit areas to stay safe.
🍭 Candy Check: Inspect all candy at home before diving in!
💡 Visibility: Carry a flashlight and add reflective details to costumes for safety in the dark.

💨 Rhythmic Breathing: The safety bob teaches swimmers how to master the timing of inhalation and exhalation of air, a key to swimming success.
🏅 Safety First: When combined with movement, it helps swimmers manage their air and reach safety.

This essential skill starts in our Beginner 1 level with a stationary safety bob. The skill progresses into more advanced versions as swimmers move through to Intermediate 1.🙌
