Polycystic o***y syndrome, or PCOS, is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age

The primary characteristics of this syndrome include: hyperandrogenism, anovulation, insulin resistance, and neuroendocrine disruption ๐Ÿฅบ

This disorder causes chronic stress to a womanโ€™s body. Resulting in elevated cortisol levels and excessive inflammation ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

Insulin resistance in PCOS is usually treated with medicine like metformin. What can really help along with that is adapting healthier lifestyle habits โœ…

Fasting of course, means thereโ€™s going to be a period where there is no glucose in the bloodstream. Your body wonโ€™t need to create insulin and that will allow you to target visceral fat stores

Of course with anything like this, you should consult a physician on what appropriate methods of action you should be taking ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿฝโ€โš•๏ธ

Less water retained = less inflammation

Without this knowledge, your attempts at fat loss can be a total blunder ๐Ÿ˜ข

Conventional weight loss methods consist of calorie restrictive diets that โ€œshouldโ€ force your body to burn body fat

From personal experience I havenโ€™t seen that work long term for me or any of my clients ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Also science says itโ€™s a load of crap lol ๐Ÿ’ฉ

Often times when I get a new client, eating too many calories is actually the last of their struggles. A lot of them barely have an actual appetite ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Based on how many calories the average adults needs and how your body adapts to incoming energy, if youโ€™re eating REAL FOOD, it's actually close to impossible to over consume your bodyโ€™s energy requirements ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

It all comes down to food selection and timing!

Junk food and refined carbohydrates do not work well with your body chemistry.

They have very little nutritional value and they spike your insulin very high and very quickly ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Sugar is also very addictive and it isnโ€™t filling. This can make snacking problematic which can lead to overconsumption ๐Ÿ˜ณ

This causes your liver to become overloaded. Itโ€™s main job is to produce glucose in the bloodstream.

If it has to choose between producing and absorbing, it will produce. The sugar can easily be deposited as fat

Over time you can develop fatty liver. Your muscles cells also become way less responsive to insulin ๐Ÿงฌ

They no longer absorb glucose as well and you begin to put on fat easier and easier

Fasting will teach your body to function how itโ€™s supposed to. With no immediate energy available, your body will be forced to drain glycogen first then use body fat (reserve energy) second. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

Done over time, fasting can restore insulin sensitivity and help boost your metabolism

So itโ€™s not just about lower caloriesโ€ฆโ€ฆ

It uses nutrition timing to get your body in fat burning modeโ€ผ๏ธ

You can also do these 4 things to burn fat faster while Intermittent Fasting ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ

โœ… Eat whole foods and avoid refined carbs. Processed foods contain several ingredients that arenโ€™t food. Those same ingredients deregulate your bodyโ€™s hormonal functions because they get absorbed very quickly and hold little to no nutritional value. As a result, your body seeโ€™s energy coming in that has poor energy output, the result is fat gain

โœ… End your fasts with a workout!
Chances are your glycogen stores are already depleted at the end of your fast and working out on top of that will burn a large percentage of calories from fat. This will translate to changes in body composition quicker vs working out after a meal

โœ… Reduce carbs at dinner! Your body has a natural clock called the circadian rhythm. Your body generates more energy during the morning and day time than it does during the evening and at night. Since your body is going to slow itโ€™s metabolism down anyway, cutting carbs will do you justice. Carbs are your bodyโ€™s immediate energy source so if our bodies are telling us that we donโ€™t need any immediate energy, listen to it!

โœ… Resistance train to boost insulin sensitivity! Cardio can burn calories and fat but resistance training will make your body better at using food for immediate energy. Your body loves homeostasis and adaptation. When you consistently weight train, your muscles become bigger and better adapted to storing glycogen. Over the long run, this can help your bodies tolerance for carbs as it will be more likely to use it for immediate fuel vs stored energy
