I remember being called lazy when there was something happening in my body that I didn’t quite understand just yet.
I remember feeling lightheaded during training sessions and wondering why my body wasn’t responding the way I knew it could. This was really scary.
I remember being told I was making an abundance of excuses while PCOS was wreaking havoc on my mind and body.
I remember thinking I was in perimenopause because a lot of the symptoms I experienced were similar.
I remember being told I wasn’t giving 100% while I was navigating traumas that would’ve made most people give up.
I remember feeling like I wasn’t good enough because I wasn’t meeting other people’s expectations.
And I’ll never forget hearing, “If you don’t lose weight, it’s not your PCOS—it’s you.” Yeah…those words hurt deeply. I won’t pretend they didn’t, however, I refused to let someone else’s judgment, opinions, or expectations of me become my own stumbling blocks.
Now, I look at this version of me, and I’m so damn proud. Yassssss chillllllllle.
My bloodwork is normalizing.
My PCOS symptoms are becoming more manageable.
My energy is increasing.
My nervous system is regulating.
My weight is slowly, but surely, coming down again.
I’m glowing, growing and healing 👐🏾
I didn’t need more shame. I needed understanding, patience, and support. I needed the space to learn what was happening inside my own body.
The woman they called lazy was actually fighting battles they couldn’t see. The woman they said wasn’t giving 100% was still showing up when giving up would’ve been easier.
And the woman who once questioned whether she was good enough because she wasn’t meeting everyone else’s expectations? She’s learning that she never had to prove her worth in the first place.
And look at me now…
Still standing.
Still fighting.
Still showing up.
Still getting stronger.
I’m not proud because it was easy.
I’m proud because I kept going. ❤️🔥
