Wongo’s has been working with .with.a.smile to have a hybrid location for our members to get their strength training in. We are so grateful to have another supportive small business to work with.

While we continue to search for a permanent home location, our amazing members continue to train, and compete. We have every intention of keeping our meets flowing in 2023. Join us in Aberdeen Jan 21 for the Winter Havok.

If you were unaware, our original location began leaking from the roof on the same day doors opened. We attempted to solve the issues with the landlord with no luck. Forcing us to prioritize the safety and well-being of our family, friends and everyone who competed in our facility. We will not compromise safety over monetary gain. For more details on that situation, don’t hesitate to ask - we’re an open book!

With that said, we are looking to come back better than before - know of an open space?! Holla!

Happy New Year - thank you for supporting small local gyms and coaches. We don’t say it enough but you keep the dream alive for us. Now get under the bar and crush some big PRs in 2023!

It was a wonderful first year and some change … and Wongo’s Barbell is officially on to bigger and better things.

Unfortunately our building presented moisture and major safety issues, therefore we chose to terminate our lease early. But don’t worry, a larger location with heat and AC is on the horizon. Once we have a projected opening date, we will inform you all here. Until then, coaching and nutrition remains available - we are sincerely grateful for our amazing members who have graciously agreed to pause their memberships while we relocate. It is our first priority to get open in a better facility as soon as we can, and to continue building a legacy here in central NC.

On the horizon … is 2-3 meets in 2023 as well as 3-4 meets and more centrally located in Moore County.

Today is our first year anniversary, so waking to this news was heart wrenching, almost unbelievable.

While we, (both Wongo’s and Rhinos) are businesses in the same industry, our passion runs deep, and our members often lift/compete and have memories of PRs in both locations.

We are so sorry to see this journey come to an end for our friends, families and all the lifters who’ve graced the platforms at Rhinos. We wish you nothing but the best from here on out, and know that we will always welcome the strength community in Fayetteville/Ft.Bragg/Moore County - Marco & I can only dream of seeing as many wonderful gains as our friends
