Another race is in the books. Not a big turnout but a good turnout of racers. We even had 2 new racers show up with their slashes. First time ever racing and I think they are hooked.
The slash class was the biggest with 10 entries. We ran 4 minute qualifiers and one of the slash heats had 4 of the drivers all finish with the same number of laps. That is close racing.
Ironman of the day was Thomas Sykes, choosing to run 4 classes. He would go on the TQ 3 classes and win 2.
Grabbing his first ever win at Cherry Valley was Mike Smith. He had a fast car all day and finally managed to put it all together in the crate Latemodel main.
I would like to recognize another driver, Paul Johnson. When he first showed up this year, he started in novice because this was all new to him. He has worked hard all year and you now find him in the street stock and slash classes. He is now leading laps and finds himself on the podium.
