Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League

Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League Connecticut's classic summer league since 1929. Hartford Twilight players have advanced to professional baseball since the league's founding.

Established in 1929, the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League is Connecticut's premier amateur summer league. As a nonprofit organization, the GHTBL aims to preserve and promote amateur baseball in the Greater Hartford area while serving as a positive venue for the development of young men in our community. Former Major League players from the GHTBL include Pete Naktenis, Moe Drabowsky, Monk

Dubiel, Joey Jay and many more. Jeff Bagwell, Bernie Williams, Rob Dibble and Ricky Bottalico played in the GHTBL before becoming MLB All-Stars.

The team will take the field as the Hartford Schoolboys, wearing special uniforms and caps in homage to Johnny Schoolboy Taylor, the most famous Negro League baseball player from Connecticut⚾

Bark in the Park is back! Join us for Family Fun Day at Dunkin’ Park, when the Bouncing Pickles take on the Thunder Chickens… featuring players from Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League. Presented by Hartford HealthCare. July 19th at 1pm. Bring your pooch to the game, and enjoy BASEBALL, inflatables, mini-golf, games, crafts, face painters, kids run the bases, mascots & full concessions. All seats general admission, only $10.

New Britain has been a local hub for amateur and professional baseball going back to the 1870s.

The city's most popular team was likely the 1908 New Britain Perfectos who signed some of the first Cuban players in organized baseball.

In 1911, the Cincinnati Reds purchased the contracts of Armando Marsáns and Rafael Almeida from New Britain's minor league club. They were among the first Cubans to reach the majors.
