I have been a trainer and sports conditioning specialist for over 11 years working with everyone from professional athletes to the stay at home mom. I have been very fortunate to work with so many great people and I am very proud of all of the success that they have achieved in their performance, body transformation and improved self confidence. I am a firm believer that everyone is unique and needs to be trained as such. My passion for athletic training comes from my own background of being an athlete. I played sports from the time I was a kid up until the end of my career as a professional football player. Camp Games 2024. What an epic fitness event put on by Camp Tampa for the Tampa Bay community. From the Camp team .love.camp, to the athletes, to the vendors, to the venue, everything was spot on. Doesn’t get any better than elite athletes, with a ton of courage and grit, competing for a spot on the podium.

I’ve been a part of Camp Games since it all started in 2018 and just to see its growth over the years is unimaginable. From the years of painting the lines on the field to now we have real officials. well organized, beautiful weather, ran smooth, challenging events and yet rewarding.

Congratulations to all the athletes out there who found that inner dawg and left it all on the field. Also thank you for allowing me to coach yal. I do this passion and pride. I know way too many athletes out there to stay in my lane so whether it was a chirp in your ear to keep your composure or I’m screaming in your face to do more. It’s what I do and it’s all out of love and respect. Til next year, keep moving! 💪🏾

“I thought today was a strength day” happened to be some of the noise I heard this morning…….Hold that thought!

Great Strength day today in both Circuit classes with some added Tempo Runs. And I’m not the type of Coach to get all scientific and preach BUT….

1 Block
- (5) Team 200m sprints
- 60s cap / 30s rest
- 100m per person (team of 2)
- 15-25s (should take per athlete)
Total: 7:30min

🗣Why Sprints make you stronger????

Ultimately it’s hard to think of runs building muscles. But sprints and long distance runs are very very different. Long runs require muscular endurance and build up slow twitch muscle fibers that are more resistant to fatigue than the fast twitch variety we use in sprinting.

🗣Sprints involve maximum force production and prize explosive activity.

A few different ways sprints build muscle:
- it’s an anaerobic exercise
- They build up the fast twitch explosive muscle fibers that grow in size.
- work out the CNS (central nervous system) by firing off motor neurons at a high rate
- act as a type of resistance training

Benefits:
- better heart health
- increased metabolism
- better at fat burning

🗣Sprinters must use as much force as they can to overcome gravity and move from one step to the other.

🗣In a sense, the required force production renders sprinter (athlete) closer to strength training, than running from a muscular point of view. Instead of lifting weights against gravity we move through it!
