Happy Mother’s Day!

No game today. Bob learned long ago that you can schedule a game on Father’s Day; you can even play a game on Easter Sunday. But forget a Mother’s Day game - not enough guys will show up to field a team. They are busy honoring the Mom’s in their lives. As it should be!

Bob has finished the big winter/early spring project of removing sod, placing fill and replacing sod to raise up the area behind the infield a few inches. All this rainfall has the sod looking green again. Almost time to play ball!

UPDATE 7th Inning - SC catcher Jonathan McKenzie has hit back-to-back homers in last 2 at-bats. He’s 5 for 5 hitting today so far.

UPDATE AFTER 6 innings - Bearcats batted around in bottom of 6th. Schultz Creek leads 12-1

The Eastern Kentucky ELITE Baseball Club got a rare opportunity at the Schultz Creek ball park yesterday evening— a Q&A with former major league pitcher Don Gullett and former MLB Umpire Terry Craft. These young men asked great questions. Thanks Don and Terry for sharing your experience!

This travel team is mostly from Greenup County along with 4 players from Ohio. They practice regularly on the little field at Schultz Creek, coached by Donny Jenkins, Bob Craft, Kyle Whisman, and (sorry didn’t quit catch additional names - let me us know and will edit post).
