On August 13th and 14th we will hosting our inaugural Bob Hanscom Memorial Squash Tournament.

Coach Bob was Mr LA Squash. He was my mentor and best friend for many years, so I was lucky enough to witness his impact on our community. He passed away on May 31st, two weeks after his 86th birthday, leaving behind a culture and passion for squash in LA. We will be celebrating his life in the only way he would’ve wanted, playing and competing in the game he loved.

Five Divisions...
Boys under 13: Zachary Noon first place; Nathan Noon third place; Andersen Yang fourth place.
Boys under 17: Mathias Mazzocco first place; Reza Mohammed second place; Ahmed Adaya fourth place.
Girls under 15: Emma Preston third place; Lindsay Zhou fourth place.
Girls under 17: Dora D**g third place; Ellery Shapiro fourth place.
Girls under 19: Sienna Lam second place.

As LA Squash Academy / Arroyo Seco Racquet Club boys under 15 junior players, Matthew Tomlin and Naum Lekovic tied for fourth place in the 32 player draw at the 2022 U.S. Squash National silver squash championships. Congrats to Matthew and Naum!

We "LIKE" what is posted below, but not the fact that not enough junior squash-players are playing in older age divisions. Why not have your junior play up an age-group, so they can begin building ranking points for when having to age up!? Just saying!

Congratulations to all of the 52 junior squash players who played in the LA Squash Academy March 12-13 So. Cal. squash high school team-league INDIVIDUAL championships.Those placing first through third, 3/4 playoffs or 2nd include the following...
"A" draw, Milo Friedman 1st; Matthias Mazzocco 2nd; Ahmad Adaya-Naum Lekovic. There was no 3/4 playoff in this draw.
"B" draw, Dora D**g 1st; Diego Velazquez 2nd; Ellery Shapiro 3rd.
There was no 3/4 playoff in this draw.
"C" draw, Andrew Moy 1st; Zahira Jarquin 2nd.
There was no 3/4 playoff in this draw. Carl Li defaulted.
We wish the above good luck in their next junior squash tournaments.

They include, Andersen Yang 2nd, Brendan Lau 3rd, BU13: Mathias Mazzocco 1st, Reza Mohamed 2nd, BU17: Loretta Pochoda 3rd GU11: Caroline Wang 1st, Emma Preston 2nd, Lindsay Zhu 3rd, GU15: Ellery Shapiro 1st, Dora D**g 2nd, GU17.
