It’s OK to take the off season to change things up and see if a different training regimen may bring different results for next year.

: Trust your training. As you get closer to your event, you will start questioning if you are truly ready to complete it and in the goal time you wanted. If you trained properly and followed all of the prescribed workouts, trust that you are ready. Barring anything out of your control, your event should go exactly as planned.

: Resilience, desire, aspire. You can achieve anything you want as long as you set yourself a goal, put your doubts aside, and push forward. Today is my 2 year anniversary of my Widowmaker heart attack and in 2 years I have gone from the ICU to completing a Half Ironman and in 3 days will be toeing the line at USA Triathlon National Championships. Remember, anything is possible if you want it bad enough.

: There will be days where your motivation to workout is just not where it should be. Try to push through that and at least start the workout, if after 10 -15 minutes you still aren’t feeling it, take a break. But more often than not, you will be glad you pushed through and often end up with having a great workout.

: Mid to late season training is upon us and many may start to experience some burnout or lower desire to train. If this is happening to you consider changing up your training routes, switch up which bike you are training with, or hit the trails instead of the pavement. You can also consider an extra rest day, sleeping in, or take a nap in the afternoon.
