On September 15th, 2016, Lorain resident Trooper Kenneth Velez #511 was killed outside of his patrol car in the line of duty after being struck by a vehicle while conducting traffic enforcement on the 90 interstate in Cleveland,

OH. Trooper Velez was a 27-year veteran of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Cleveland Post #18 and was just days away from retirement. Kenny was an avid sports fan, a family man, and a fair person in and out of his uniform. In honor of Kenny’s lifetime of service, family and friends decided to organize this MOVE OVER 5k race & 1 mile fun walk. All proceeds will go to the TKV memorial scholarship fund which has been organized by the Lorain County Blue Foundation.

It truly pains us that we have to turn people away from the golf outing every year.

Join us at Rocket Arena on Thursday, November 20, for a special night of hockey to honor our Ohio Fallen Police Officers, Lorain Officer Phillip Wagner and Cleveland Recruit Cortez Smith.

Tickets get you into the PD vs. FD game at 4:30pm as well as the Cleveland Monsters vs. Hershey Bears game at 7:00pm.

Presented by Cleveland Fire Fighters Hockey, the Cleveland Monsters, IAFF Local 93, FOP Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #8, and the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association.
