Pacific Crest Trail Food Drop Location in South Lake Tahoe Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, whether as a thru hiker or section hiker, can be a challenge when it comes to resupplying and obtaining your food drops.

Food drops can be difficult to obtain if you reach town after normal post office hours, or on a weekend. Post offices in smaller towns are closing altogether, making it even more difficult to resupply. Lake of the Sky Outfitters, located in South Lake Tahoe would like to make this process a little easier for you by accepting packages which can then be picked up seven days a week, during business h

ours. This can help alleviate entended zero days waiting for the post office to open to pick up a food drop. There is no charge for holding your food drop. However, if you need to send a bounce box or return a package to home there will be a charge for postage. Preferred method of shipping packages is via UPS.
