Hey Another Round Disc Golf - Salt Lake City we got the Salt Lake Open - Bingham Creek layouts in Udisc! I still need to fine tune some notes but it's enough for people to start practicing.

HELP NEEDED! The Salt Lake Open will cover 3 days and 3 courses. 1 portion will be at each course on each day. We walked Bingham Creek course a week or two ago and we made some plans on what I think will be a pretty fun layout. I need to get it plugged into UDisc so people can start practicing it. Is anybody willing to help at Bingham Creek on any of those 3 days? Weare primarily looking for people to help get the cards checked in and answer questions about the layout. Please let me know if you are not playing in the event but are available to help on any of those 3 days, especially Saturday the 19th

Huge thanks to the volunteers who came out this morning to help improve Hole 15!

Over the past year, disc golfers and other park patrons have been adding rocks to help define the island. It’s added some great visual clarity and interesting gameplay, but mowing around those rocks became a challenge for the park crew.

Today we sunk most of the rocks flush with the ground so mowers can roll right over. The soil was tougher than expected, so we left a small raised rock wall behind the basket to act as a backstop. Fingers crossed it’s mower-friendly!

Hole 15 will now play a bit differently with more skip-ins, but also more skip-outs. As a reminder: your lie is considered in hazard if the entire disc is outside of and not touching the ring of rocks. In that case, take a penalty stroke, but do not move your lie.

Appreciate everyone who pitched in today, and everyone who continues to support the club. The course is looking better than ever!

This long weekend gave more people multiple attempts at the leaderboard. Devvin crushed his play-in round and secured top spot with a large lead. Ryan shot a PB and it looks like Ian also had a stellar round. Well played everybody. It’s great to see even more players playing their play-in round for their chance to fight for top spot next week. See you then.

Smaller crowd out this weekend and a tough fight. Everybody had to bring their A game which resulted in a 3-way tie for 1st! With the handicaps leveling the playing field anyone can come for a competitive fight, while still having that top spot within reach. Great to see some new players out there also. After your first round with our league you will get a handicap.

first flex weekend of the year is in the books. we are trying the new UDisc handicap system. So by handicap Kip Peterson did the best, by raw score Craig Bennett got an impressive -9. See you next week.

It’s spring time! Let’s chuck some plastic. We did a PDGA sanction league last fall and the Elevate UT Disc Golf PDGA sanctioned league just finished. I played in those and they were a bit stressful, knowing that my rating was on the line. and if you look it up, you can tell I didn’t do very well. 🙂 Let’s whip up some of the more casual udisc flex leagues that we were doing last year. No cost to play, just a little friendly competition, and an opportunity to meet up with others and to play a round together, but playing solo is also fine. I’ll probably do Friday and Saturdays again? I’m open to other ideas and input. Shorts or longs? Some alternate tee pads? Maybe we mix it up each month?

A green and blue Pyro was left at Bingham Creek yesterday afternoon around hole 17 and 18. Let us know if you picked it up so we can get it back to Timothy.
