Black Lives Matter always at MHCXCTF, and we’re extremely excited to be taking on the Athletes Take Action Challenge. Thank you to MHC Field Hockey for nominating us! We will be fundraising from August 3rd to August 10th, and splitting the total between two local organizations suggested by a couple of our athletes. (Check below to learn about these organizations!) If you are able to, please contribute and share so we can reach our goal of $1500! Wow what a weekend it has been for Yokecity!! Our DIII weekend started off on Friday with Madeline and Hannah finishing 5th and 6th in the 5k with 17:39.26 and 17:39.27, earning them All-New England Honors!! Then Isabelle continued the fun today in the 60HH with 9.82, followed by Caitlin in the HJ with 1.55m. Our Saturday events on the oval started with Simone in the mile (5:18.46)! Then she came back along with Sydney to throw down some speedy 1ks (3:07.94 for Simone and 3:12.01 for Sydney). Our day was wrapped up with our 4x8 team that was lead by Sydney, Emma, Devan, and brought home with Simone in 10:11.81! Way to go out there and compete Yokecity!! We’re so proud for the heart that you showed at Middlebury!

Our 7 extremely exciting performances at BU set off the tone for the weekend as we headed to MIT for our last regular season indoor meet. We brought in 6 season 6 season bests and 10 PRs, which include Emma, Katie, Olivia, Amanda, and Marlena in the 3k (11:14.39, 11:41.46, 11:43.45, 11:52.28, and 12:06.25 respectively), Devan in the 600 (1:51.01), Lucy and Caitlin in the 60m (8.75 #10 All-Time Performance! and 8.78 respectively), Charlotte in the 800 (2:42.26), and Simone in the 1k (3:06.87 - #4 All-Time Performance + DIII NE Qualifier!). Our relays also had a successful day today, with our 4x200 team [LPR, Lucy, Rosemary, Caitlin] taking 3rd, 4x400 team [Olivia, Natalie, Charlotte, Michaela] taking 2nd, and 4x800 A-team [Emma, Sydney, Devan, Simone] taking 2nd (10:10.95- #4 All-Time Performance) and our B-team [Hannah, Madeline, Amanda, Marlena] taking 3rd! Way to finish off the regular season , and let’s get ready to take on DIII NE at the end of the month 🤩🔥💙🦁

On Friday, 7 Lyons stepped onto the track at BU and 7 Lyons ran away with indoor lifetime bests! Special shout-outs to Hannah and Madeline who broke the school record in the 5k (17:18!), Simone who ran the MHC #2 all-time 800m, and Isabelle who ran the MHC #5 all-time 200m!

Hey Lyons Nation! Our 5k squad is currently ranked 11th in the country (NCAA DIII) with an average of 18:39! Way to chase after those goals and put it all out on the track 💙 It’s a good day to be a Lyon 🦁🔥

What an amazing weekend for Yokecity!! It all started with the BU Terrier invitational...we had Devan in the 800m with an indoor PR of 2:30.14 and 5th in her heat, Sydney in the 1 Mile at 5:30 and 7th in her heat ( #8 All-Time MHC Performance!) Simone with a PR in the 1 Mile at 5:16 and 1st in her heat ( #2 All-Time MHC Performance!), and Hannah and Madeline in the 5k at 17:39.02 and 17:39.28 respectively, bringing them 3rd and 4th overall and setting #1 and #2 All-Time MHC Performances!!! That’s right, a new school record has been set, breaking the previous one by 33 seconds!! Yeah Yoke!! Then the excitement continued in Springfield with 8 season bests and 12 PRs: Sarah (1 Mile 5:43.50 + 3k 11:37.66), Katie (1 Mile 5:53.61 + 3k 11:55.97), Amanda (3k 12:00.47), Marlena (3k 12:40.70), Simone (1k 3:12.93 - #9 All-Time MHC Performance!), Sydney (1k 3:14.30), Charlotte (800 2:43), Eliza (800 2:40.32), Devan (400 68.54), and Isabelle (60 8.34 - #4 All-Time MHC Performance!). We were ready to COMPETE!! Stepping stone 2/9 for Newmacs in the Spring! Way to bring the fire this weekend Yokecity!!

Have you heard? We have THREE DIII New England Qualifiers from their performances on Sunday! Simone qualified for the 1 Mile, while Hannah and Madeline qualified in the 3k! We’re excited to have more people join them in February, and cheer them on in their events!! yoke’em! 🔥

What a phenomenal day today at the GBTC Invitational! We saw 21 SBs and 18 PRs, including Isabelle in the 200m (27.90) and triple jump (10.11 #6 All-Time for MHC performances), Lucy in the 200m (29.67) and 60m (8.76 #10 All-Time for MHC performances), Rosemary in the 200m (29.40), Sara in the 200m (33.50), Caitlin in the 60m (8.87), LPR in the pole vault (2.45), Natalie in the 600m (1:56.84), Eliza in the 800m (2:40.60), Amanda in the 1k (3:31.26), Devan and Simone in the 1 mile (5:59.27 and 5:19.78 respectively), and Sarah (11:48.49), Katie (12:00.10), OG (11:50.26), Madeline, (10:22.85 #3 All-Time for MHC performances) and Hannah (10:22.20 #2 All-Time for MHC performances) in the 3k! That’s 4 All-Time for MHC performances in the first meet of 2020!! We’re looking pretty strong, and we brought the heat today! Way to bring it in Yokecity 💪🏼🔥💙
