Justin Christensen, sophomore at St John Fisher College.

Previous posts show Justin’s many accomplishments and awards his freshman year.

He recently received another award from The Baseball Collegian, a new baseball newsletter, distributed nationally.

Justin was named to the division 3 All-American team. He turned in one of the finest pitching seasons in the country in 2026. He earned a spot on this squad with standouts from many nationally ranked programs.

Congratulations, Justin, on your most recent award. Continuing working hard. ⚾️

Nicholas Sauer-Jones,senior at Johnsburg Central.

Nick has been fortunate enough to have had 6 colleges pursuing him as a baseball pitcher. This past Monday, he made the decision to attend RPI, in Troy NY.

We both are very pleased that he has found a place where he will be able to develop as a pitcher.

Congratulations Nick! This is just the beginning! ⚾️

Nick Sauer Jones-Senior Johnsburg Central

Nick reached the 100 strikeout milestone for his high school career this past May. During the recent summer travel season, his college search has intensified. He has attended various NCAA collegiate workouts and has a couple more to go to.

Nick and I are currently working extremely hard to improve his pitching skills to match up with what college coaches look for. Mainly a catcher by trade, his 85mph fastball (up to 88mph) has put him on the radar for pitching rather than catching. Therefore, he is now focusing on his pitching mechanics.

The picture below shows the old Nick on the right and the new Nick on the left. (both pictures were taken as the front foot lands on the mound) You will see a lot of improvement on the left in his body language. His velocity and location will be improving as well.

Keep working Nick! Good things are happening!

Former GF grad elected to the LeMoyne College Athletic Hall of Fame

Matt Stevens, 1985 graduate of Glens Falls High School.

Matt played and pitched for me for 3 years at the Varsity level. His career pitching numbers at GF were outstanding. 17 wins, 4 losses, and an ERA of 1.38. This success led to a baseball scholarship at LeMoyne College.

His achievements at LeMoyne led to him being elected into the LeMoyne College Athletic Hall of Fame this year. He also spent 7 years pitching in the Philadelphia Phillies/Minnesota Twins minor league systems.

I made sure that Matt always had off season help during his 4 years at LeMoyne and his 7 years of minor league play.

Alexis Harrington, sophomore at South Glens Falls.

With high school graduation taking away many of my student athletes, Alexis is now the longest tenured athlete at Harringtons’ Dugout. She has worked on her hitting with me for the past 6 years and is starting to see some very positive results.

This past week, her travel softball team participated in the Myrtle Beach Softball World Series. Alexis competed in the skills challenge, and won the home run derby. There were 15 participants and each got 15 swings from the pitcher of their choice. Alexis crushed 7 home runs out of her 15 swings to take first place in the derby.

Congratulations Alexis. Keep working hard.

Justin Christensen, entering his sophomore year at St John Fisher, SGF grad.

At the end of his first full season of college baseball, Justin put up some outstanding numbers.

7-0 record
1.77 ERA in 12 games
45.2 innings pitched
68 strikeouts
18 walks

Based on these unbelievable statistics, he has received many awards:

1. 1st team Empire 8 conference all star
2. NCAA Region 3 rookie of the year
3. ABCA/Rawlings NCAA D3 all region 3 1st team pitcher
4. ABCA/RAWLINGS NCAA D3 ALL AMERICAN

Congratulations Justin on your many years of hard work. All the time and effort you have put in has proven worth it!

I am proud to say that Justin is the 3rd All American that I have helped to develop.
He now joins Micah Truax Ryan and Mike Harrington as All Americans from Harrington’s Dugout.

My granddaughter Alexis, 15yr old student/athlete at SGF high school.

Alexis has worked on her hitting skills, at Harrington’s Dugout, for many years. She is really starting to develop as a hitter.

Like many athletes, she is currently playing on a travel softball team. This past weekend her team was in a tournament in NH.

In 7 games played, she was 7 for 18 (.388 BA), which included her first 2 over the fence home runs. She also had 2 doubles and 12 RBIs.

Congratulations Alexis on an outstanding offensive weekend!

Nicholas Sauer-Jones, junior RHP and Johnsburg Central School.

Nicholas is 6’3”, 190lbs.

On May 16, 2026, he recorded his 100th varsity baseball strikeout. He finished the season with a 0.61 ERA.

I first met Nicholas in the fall of 2024 when he tried out for my travel team. He tried out as a catcher and his catching skills and arm strength were impressive. During winter workouts at Harrington’s Dugout, I explained to him that I thought his baseball career might best be served if he learned how to pitch. Gradually, we started working on pitching over the winter, and he pitched a little during the varsity season his sophomore year (2025).

The summer of 2025, he pitched for my travel team and recorded 12 strikeouts in 6 innings. The possibility of turning him into a quality pitcher became very positive.

This past winter, Nicholas worked hard on improving his pitching skills. We met on a weekly basis to refine his pitching. His hard work paid off with him pitching 34 innings and striking out 76, during his 2026 high school season.

Nicholas currently has a total of 130 varsity strikeouts, compiled over a two year time period. This season he earned the honor of being named the MVP of the Mountain Valley baseball league.
