Info below on how to get a hold of the LGG team
Job opportunity! Are you an experienced craftsman looking for some more work in the surf industry and can be at our factory in South Daytona?
We are looking for a part-time experienced laminator. Preferably that you can do both PU and EPS work and do color work (resin tints, swirls, etc); however, we will not overlook you if you only work with one medium or only do clear laminations. Our lamination room is fully AC'd, so it is comfortable and controlled for the best quality work to be produced. We have tools you can use, and we can provide more tools if there is a necessary requirement. You are welcome to bring your own personal equipment if desired.
As a laminator, you will be expected to:
- Ensure boards are properly prepped BEFORE and DURING lamination - boards are clean of dirt, debris, or anything that hinders the final product.
- Read order forms for proper lamination schedule and laminate placements
- Cut your own cloth. We mostly use 4 and 6oz cloths, but do use hybrids such as double bias, carbon, and innegra. Cutting cloth includes cutting fin patches, as well as web-fused and woven tail patches and/or carbon stripes, and add-on features using templates provided.
- Buzz laps. Great laminators prep their laps between laminations. It also makes the sander happy.
- Have a good attitude and respect everyone working or visiting. That includes being confident in your work skills, but also being able to take instructions, advice, and being willing to both ACCEPT AND GIVE HELP/SUPPORT. We want you to have fun and take pride in your work, put on some loud music and crank out some badass boards, but please leave your ego at home.
BONUS STUFF TO KNOW AND YOU WILL BE ASKED:
- Route/Sink fin boxes when needed. This includes standard FCS, Futures, and longboard boxes.
- Hotcoat when needed. This includes being able to buzz and clean up the bottom lap and prep fin boxes before the bottom hotcoat is applied.
We are looking for a reliable person, takes pride in their work and is CLEAN. We expect you to act professionally with our crew and with any guests or customers that may visit. WE CLEAN UP DAILY. While this is a surfboard factory, we take pride in our workspace and keep our factory as clean as possible. Tools are put away. Containers are properly closed.
We plan to have this eventually as a full-time position, so it is an opportunity to grow with the company.
