Pitching lessons for 1/22/2023 are cancelled due to the road conditions. We've had a wonderful winter to date. I believe this is the first weather-related cancellation since November lessons began. Unfortunately, even tho this was predicted I believe it falls into the "more than expected" category and conditions are just not worth the risk. Lessons for Wednesday, Thursday, and next Sunday will remain the same. Some of you only have 3 more lesson dates before reporting to your teams. Time to step things up Ladies.

The following is from Amanda Scarborough, a highly successful pitcher which I recommend you follow. I have never met Amanda. I have seen her pitch. She has a full understanding of the position as a pitcher and reflects a lot of the same things I teach today. By association, you can see how life lessons learned thru sports have influenced her approach of the game. Thank you Amanda. Please read some of her posts:

Not every good pitch is a strike and not every strike is a good pitch.
Success isn't dependent on how many strikes you throw, really. There are so many more factors in success than that. However, so many times it's all that young girls will care about.

When you are learning, mechanics and doing things right is far more important than strikes.

Strikes are usually a byproduct of good mechanics.

Work on your mechanics first and define your success that way, because at the end of the day you really don't want to throw 100% strikes in a game.

What you DO want is to have good mechanics 100% of the time.

Pitching for Thursday Feb. 10, 2022 is a go for those on the schedule. There are still some slick spots in the lot so be careful walking and driving here once you arrive. Road conditions at this time are fine. Lessons for Sunday Feb. 13, should be no problem as long as Mother Nature cooperates. Nothing in the advanced weather report to indicate Hell freezing over so that might be a good sign for Bengals fans...............

Pitching lessons for Feb. 3, 2022 are canceled due to icing and overall poor road conditions. If you see this post please share or contact other pitchers/families to let everyone know. Thank you.

Hey Gang, just wanted to get the word out that I am fine----------well----------you can be the judge of that. lol. My reasoning for canceling the remaining lessons last Sunday was due to an old injury of mine resurfacing. It doesn't have anything to do with softball or with Covid-19. I have a tear in my left rotator cuff and an innocent and inadvertent movement on Sunday popped my shoulder out of place. My arm locked up and was causing a great deal of pain. There simply was no way for me to continue. I apologize. My plan is to conduct lessons on Thursday Jan. 6, 2022 on your allotted time slots and Sunday Jan. 9, 2022 weather permitting. Contact me if you are unable to attend.

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I just wanted to reach out with a quick note to remind everyone we will not be hosting lessons on Sunday Dec. 26, 2021. I hope everyone gets a chance to spend time with family and friends. Thursday Dec. 30, 2021 time slots are full and lessons will go as scheduled. Sunday January 2, 2022 will be as scheduled. If you are unable to attend please let me know in advance.

Pitching lessons for Dec. 12, 2021 are canceled due to illness. This is not Covid related, however I have been advised to isolate and rest. If you are scheduled for Sunday and see this message, please acknowledge to me and save me trying to contact everyone individually. Thank you and I am sorry.

I am starting to book time slots for pitching lessons. We will begin this Sunday. Contact me to book a slot. Also, next Thursday 11/11/2021 will be our first week night of pitching with slots 6, 7, and 8pm. Send me a PM or call to reserve a slot. We will be doing private lessons to begin the winter until we have a better understanding of any Covid-19 guidelines.

I just want to wish everyone good luck for the upcoming season. With vaccines being administered and the world seeing a chance to get back to normal, I'm confident we can see some normalcy next winter.

Lessons under the new guidelines have been difficult. The time spent to make things happen on everyone's schedule has been stressful. We couldn't get everyone in this winter but we tried.

Remember; if you have interest in taking lessons to be sure to contact me next October to reserve a time slot. For now, I plan to start again in November after Tuesday election day in November. Again, lessons will be limited to certain days and once the time slots are full there will not be anymore added. Have a great spring and summer. Stay safe.

Effective immediately; I have decided to close everything down for the season and focus on my health. Until Dr's can get a handle on my medications and get out in front of my medical issues, Lisa and I have decided it would be prudent to quit early this year.
It's been a difficult year. First a world-wide pandemic and now Mother Nature is making things difficult. We have tried so hard to make the winter lessons work. I admit I considered not having any lessons this winter at all due to the pandemic. I viewed it as non-essential. It was after consulting with my Dr that I decided to change the venue and offer something--------anything that could be a benefit to the mental well-being of some of the kids by offering an outlet to our current situation. Pitchers are under such a mental strain to play their position. To not be prepared for a possible upcoming season just didn't seem fair.
This meant cutting back the number of students I could work with this winter. After all, I'm only one man. The available time slots I decided to offer were taken quickly. Those individuals have been very diligent to come each week. Sessions were slightly shortened to allow me time to sanitize everything. Most brought their own balls and did a wonderful job keeping them clean. Families were extremely efficient to follow my requests to only have one family member in attendance during the lesson. All this was for their safety as well as being respectful of my own. Thank you everyone!
My health has been compromised this winter due to new medications I am taking. I have been warned to be careful due to my immune system being compromised due to the medication. It seems to have an effect on my intensity and focus as well. For this reason I want to apologize to the families that expected more from me.
The medication has also made it more difficult for me to be out in the elements for long periods of time trying to keep up with the snowfall and heavy drifting taking place. The combination of everything wears me out so I have little energy left to work till 8-9pm. I'm sharing because I feel you deserve an explanation. I'm sorry.
There's only two weeks left in our normal winter lesson rotation. My health issues are not due to covid-19 or related to anything related to the students that have been in attendance this winter. What's that old saying, "It's not you, it's me" comes to mind. I'll be fine. I simply need to take some time off and get some rest.
Good luck this year ladies. Stay the course, stay focused, stay safe!!!!
