I am so incredibly proud of our All Star players. Playing at this level is not easy. It’s intense with practices six days a week, at two hours long. It’s hot days and rainouts when you’re prepared to play. It’s life long friendships and fans that become your close friends. It’s perseverance and repetition.
I hope this community is as proud as I am. To our 8-10 year olds who came out for the first time and played their hearts out - I hope you get back at it next year.
Our 9-11’s, District 1 Champions, battled through four teams of pool play and double elimination and are now headed to Brattleboro to play for the state title on July 18th. Hat’s off to Finn Dailey and Cooper Morin who demonstrated high pressure pitching in the championship.
And to our 10-12’s, who I’ve personally had the experience of getting to know since these players were 8 years old. Today, they beat CVLL 7-4 and eliminated them from the tournament. A long-time rivalry. Shout out to Duke Friday who hit a home run today, to Henry Bunting who’s had 20 some odd put-outs at Short Stop, to Cam Mott, who we thought would be out due to a broken foot- you worked hard, came back and you’re crushing it, to Brody Clark, Arthur Collins, and Johnny Moore, for your effortless pitching, our outfielders, Conrad Gordon, Griffin Getz, and Cam O’Day, that’s the SB No-Fly Zone, to Greta Burke, Keegan Paul, John Sears, you are the hitters that keep us alive, your team spirit and positive attitudes bind our team together. I’m proud of you all.
SB, let’s get at it this week! 10-12’s take on Colchester in an elimination game on Monday, July 13th-winner goes to D1 Championship game. Good luck to both teams!
