Lakeshore Sports Car Club Lakeshore Sports Car Club is an affiliate of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs. Road racing is the primary activity of Lakeshore Sports Car Club.

Lakeshore Sports Car club is one of the founding members of the Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs. Many Lakeshore members participate in Midwestern Council road races as race drivers, pit crew or race staff. For the motorsports enthusiast who likes to drive fast with reduced risk and expense, Lakeshore Sports Car Club offers the Midwestern Council Championship Autocross Series.Autocross is a

fun, high speed test of skill where you can fine tune your high performance, competitive driving skills. It's also a good way to find out how fast your Porsche or Es**rt can go without risking the loss of your drivers license. By driving solo on an open track, you race your car (street or performance) one lap at a time against the clock. A number of years ago, with the increase in popularity of Vintage/Historic racing, Midwestern Council started to add vintage/historic groups at selected race weekends. V/H is aimed at the drivers of older cars desiring to race with less exposure to damage that that offered in current era wheel-to-wheel racing. Race staff is another way to become a part of the action. Race staff workers are always welcome at Midwestern Council events, whether you're a first time worker or an experienced race staffer. No matter what your specialty or interest is, we can find a place where you will definitely feel useful. From the beginning, Lakeshore Sports Car Club has helped build Midwestern council racing into the fun, friendly alternative to "big time" racing that it is today.

Meet Matt, driver of a 2017 Audi S3, rocking the #13 XM in the High Speed Autocross!

💭 When asked for his favorite track memory, Matt couldn’t pick just one:
“That's a tough question. Every single time I'm at the track with this group I make some pretty great new memories.”

🏁 His favorite track? Easy—Blackhawk Farms Raceway!
“Being a driver in the High Speed Autocross series, we spend most of our time at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. It's also where I got my start over 20 years ago. Nostalgia alone might give this win to BFR!”

💡 Advice for new racers:
“There are a lot of seasoned drivers around, and most of them aren't just willing to help -- they actively WANT to. Don't be afraid to approach people. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Don't be afraid to admit you don't know something. Soak up lessons from other people's former mistakes -- much easier than making mistakes on your own.”

It was a gorgeous weekend and to end it, everyone from LSCC wants to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to our women racers, our volunteers, and the amazing women who allow their men to escape to the track with us.

Also, don’t blink—we’re just TWO weeks away from the North Suburban Sports Car Club Salute to Speed! Start your engines... and maybe clean the garage while you're at it. 😉
