We made our own uniform patch logo for our Jiu Jitsu program at the CFC Training Center in Sonora. American Jiu Jitsu!
I'm proud of my roots in the Behring Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from my teachers- Grand Master Flavio Behring, Professor Rob Handley, and Professor Tom Theofanopoulos. But the jiu jitsu that we teach at CFC is more of a melting pot of many different jiu jitsu systems.
Our Captain at CFC, Oscar Martinez, is the dog. He has trained and learned from more world leaders in combat than anyone else I know. He has trained with Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Randy Couture, Urijah Faber, Nick and Nate Diaz, and almost every star you know of.
Our Black Belt leader and direct connection to the Gracie Baja side of our roots is Tim McKenzie- the bear. Tim is a hardened vet with fights in the UFC, WEC, Tachi Palace, etc.
And I, the connection to our Behring roots, am the eagle. My jiu jitsu has been heavily shaped by my own personal experience fighting through my MMA career and incorporates wrestling techniques from my great wrestling teachers over the years like Jordan Keckler (the greatest grappler ive ever locked up with) and the Flores family (shootout to Frankie). And of course, my brothers Justin and Brad have been my learning partners and the test guinea pigs for everything i learned. in order for me to trust a technique, it must be able to be used on my brothers... If a technique cant be pulled of on great fighters like Justin and Brad then it's not worth learning.

There is someone else who isnt on the logo, but is just as important. Steve Heath is the big man leading us black belts. Steve Heath is a Pioneer in MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Most of you know of MMA pioneers like Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie. But you should know of Steve Heath just the same. He shaped MMA and Jiu Jitsu for the next generation like me. He is a direct student of Caesar Gracie and helped to build stars like Nick and Nate Diaz.
I'm very proud to found a home at the CFC Training Center.
