Its been a busy October with LOTS of fishing! Gabe’s first run to Pyramid was a success, fishing vertical always seems to produce early season. We are curious how the beach bite was through that first storm in October let us know if you were out there!

Lots of exploring new waters and new species this fall, all year really! We’ve had tons of firsts this year and it’s not over yet. Make the most of 2025 and get out there between now and the end of the year, pick a direction and you can’t go wrong!

How's the fishing?

With flows nearing their seasonal low, dry fly fishing is the top tactic. Much of the river is too shallow for effective nymphing, but the surface bite has been active and allows anglers to cover a lot of water.

Fishing remains strong and consistent, and the scenery is exceptional this time of year. With lighter crowds now that school is back in session and Labor Day has passed, this time of year offers a quieter experience.

Life on the high seas isn't for everyone, but our selection of personal watercraft from Outcast will help you get your sea legs under you. With fall seasons opening up on alpine lakes float tubing is a great way to get close and personal with the legendary monsters in Heenan and beyond.

How's the fishing?

Even as summer break winds down, the fishing hasn’t skipped a beat. The combination of steady flows, mild weather, and active fish has created one of the more enjoyable stretches of the season. The bite is strong, and with fall around the corner, now is the time to squeeze in your summer fishing trips before the colder weather sets in.

As the flows start to drop and deep holes are harder to come by we suggest tying on a dry-dropper rig: a dry fly with a nymph tied to it.

Of course, each angler set up their rig uniquely, but dry-droppers all boil down to this basic setup. The nymph fishes the same way it always does, and the dry acts both as a lure and as an indicator for the nymph. So you're watching for a fish to either take your dry fly off the surface, or for the dry fly to dive underwater, indicating a subsurface strike. It is a great way to present two options for trout to hit, especially in slower moving water.
