One more bucket list item checked. Racing at Willow Springs. The oldest road course in the west. The fastest too? Yes it was. Turn 8 was knee down, pinned in top gear leading into a decreasing radius turn 9. More difficult than turn 1 at Daytona imo.
Practice was going well learning the new track, but I hit a plateau due to my forks having nearly no rebound damping. Jim Doyle with g-baby racing loaned me a set of awesome forks set up for his fast and furious girls that were nearly perfect for me as is. This was after Jim spent the time to help me change/adjust oil level trying to get mine to work properly. Sorry for the oil bath Jim.
A huge thank you Jim!
I ran the forks forks in the race and dropped 4 seconds from my practice times. My best lap was a 1:34.2 at big Willow on Saturday. Strong winds slowed me by a second on Sunday.
Seroj Terian, my new teammate and I have ran in consecutive order the past few years with Willow being no exception.
More info to come on my new teammates Seroj and Arch York (who was a big help in the pits) and our new sponsor.
