So, our second day worked out much better. We started and went all day from 10:00 to 5:00; logging 121 laps which got us to finish 139th out of some 170 entries! We did not have any mechanical issues with the car! And everybody got their confidence back!

Thanks to everybody who came to watch, cook food, help out with driver spotting.

We are going to try to gear up for the June 30th/July 1st Sweat Arse-Sweat-Apalooza. It is going to be an actual 24hrs race! That means lights, oil cooler, brake ducts, new engine, and anything else we can do to keep the car cool for a full non-stop 24hrs.

So we had some ups and downs. Saturdays have always seemed like a "curse" to us. Our first race, we lost our clutch. Our second race, we lost our electrical charging system. Well, this third race, we didn't have any mechanical issues other than losing our rear-end traction in the rainy rainy racetrack. So we ended our day a bit early by collecting too many black flags. :(

But we still have tomorrow to make up for our mistakes. We also unhooked our rear-sway bar to give the car a bit more understeer. Hopefully recollecting ourselves and the change to the rear-sway bar will make Sunday a more successful day.

So Friday went great except for our electrical issue with the display unit. We now have a cheap tachometer in the car so we still can tell the RPMs. Judging from the rain in San Mateo, I think that it is raining up there; BUT we are still racing!!! So swing on by if you are in the area or bored or want to see cool cars.

We inspected about 170 race cars at Infineon Raceway yesterday, but the line of beaters, hoopties, and heaps (plus a few fairly well-set-up race cars) awaiting the judgment of the LeMons Supreme Court felt like thousands. So we had Rich go out in a practice run and that went well. We also went to tech inspection and it went great. We were put back in B Class with 0 BS Laps. Our problem is that while proving our cutoff switch works, we seemed to have had a surge of voltage and the display unit no longer turns on. John, Jordan, and Patrick are off to Novato Napa to go buy an autometer tachometer.

Our car is looking ready for this weekends race. If you can manage to show up, we should have a grill with hotdogs/hamburgers/other stuff to keep you going IN THE RAIN!!!!!

The race starts Saturday @ 10:30 and stops @ 6:00. It restarts on Sunday @ 10:00 and ends @ 5:00 with awards starting a half hour later. Look for us and many of the other wacky car teams out there.
