Could not be happier with how this came out! Classic single string 6D trad with some bootlace and leathers. But tying it up for my college buddy to put on a shaft made by his first coach, none other than , is incredible. Even better to hand it off to him and throw around a bit in the snow!

OG CEO for my buddy perfect for coaching, tossing around, and winning the must win face offs in Tahoe. He chose the colors and the mid-pocket, and after a few tries I settled on this pattern. SK 3s and strings and shooters.

He was looking for a smooth mid-high pocket and this should be perfect for him. The first time I have tied up a Powell head, so I ran through a couple rounds of stringing and it’s pretty sweet. Definitely going to need to try out the Transition next! Thanks again to the guys at Powell and at Meshed Market for putting this together!

Take two at the contest! Tied up a trad x pocket, with a floating sidewall, in an OG CEO. Tried to stay true to the attackman giving it a lower pocket, and keeping the top diamonds a little smaller to give a nice smooth release. The floating sidewalls were perfect for adding a little more feel when cradling. Thanks to and for the materials. Let me know what you think!

The last of my old sticks is this Brine Blaze. This one is older than most of today’s high schoolers. An early 2000’s head, it was an early offset option for newer players. And as goofy as the flame sidewalls are, I’m sure there was a kid who thought his stick was the coolest because of it. I tried to stick with the fire colorway, and gave it a simple mid-high pocket that a young D-pole could learn on. I threw it on my very first long stick, a gold platinum alloy. All tied up with sensei mesh, strings, and shooters!

The next old head of mine to get a fresh tie up is this Brine Prophecy. This mid-2000’s monstrosity certainly flopped, but is certainly a good example from an era where companies were pushing the boundaries and trying new things. The rubber sidewalls are a pain to work with, so I had to be creative to get a decent channel. In the end it was a fun head for string and try to get perfect, but I’m glad the rubber sidewall idea didn’t take off.

Restrung my Prowess with some “Item 9” 6/5 D mystery mesh. I don’t know who made it, I have no idea when/if it is coming to market...after all I’m no . But as Private Miller said, “This is great, this is the bees knees”. Bad Pineapple Express jokes aside, this stuff is seriously sweet. Good to see monster mesh cross into women’s lax, hope to see it in shops one day! @ Sonoma County, California

The first “Just because it’s old, doesn’t make it a classic” head of mine is this Brine Franchise. Came out around 2007, and while it got lost among the great heads of those years, I wouldn’t call it bad. Good stiffness, solid scoop, and more stringing holes than almost any heads at the time helps make its case. I thought the extra holes would be perfect for a slice of Force Rhombus. I went with a pretty simple mid pocket, not overly channeled, and a smooth release. I like the feel of one nylon, but this could certainly join the . Tied up with strings. Swipe to see how it started, and a look at the next 2 I’ll be working on! @ Sonoma County, California

The newest head in my collection is this Prowess tied up with OG SK Type W. The stringing was supposed to be temporary while I waited on some new mesh to come in, but shooting with it has been too much fun. However, it’s time I break out some of the goodies that sent out and one of them to good use. And a big thank you to for parting with the head and some Firethreads! @ Sonoma County, California
