“The best view comes after the toughest climb”. you’ve had the toughest climb. We’d stayed connected virtually, extended our commutes to get our burn on at sister studios, and we’ve adapted to restrictions and continued to show up. I am so happy you all have stayed patient. I promise the view at the top is worth the climb. If you haven’t heard, we’re reopening our doors Monday!! Book your classes. See you there🧡

How am I staying motivated during this pandemic? Well, to be honest, I’d be lying if I said I am motivated everyday. As far as my fitness I am really just taking it one day and one step at a time. Sticking with my OTF community that I know makes me feel good physically and mentally. OTF at home workouts. Running outside. Doing something that I enjoy is always going to be more maintainable and motivating to me than something that feels like a chore. While it’s AMAZING to see what the fitness industry is doing right now, the volume of options can also be overwhelming. Whatever makes you feel good- do that. With that said, the nice weather is right around the corner... who’s joining for that movement?

The studio is closed, a coaches side.
It took me 8 weeks to finally reflect on how I am feeling. I miss the community. I miss in person coaching. I miss watching people step into the studio and chip away at their goals one class at a time. I miss the member to member support. Coaching in the studio could change a bad day into a great day just from the energy of the members. I am beyond fortunate that I can still virtually coach you all because quite frankly, I am not sure where I would be mentally without being able to continue to help people even if it’s not in the environment that I am used to. With that said, nothing can replace being under the orange lights and nothing can replace the class experience. I repeat—- NOTHING can replace the class experience. While it’s been a while since I’ve taken my last sweaty class photo, I know we’ll be back to celebrating milestones as a group, and we’ll be a stronger group than ever💪🏻 Until then, hang tight, keep crushing the at home workouts, and keep leaning on your coaches, because they need you just as much as you need them.🧡

*Grateful*

Taking a moment this week to reflect on what I have instead of what I don’t have. Grateful that social media allows me to continue to help people with their fitness. Grateful that technology allows me to see the faces of the people I love and care about. Grateful for my health. Grateful for my new office (my bedroom). In a time of so much unknown, it’s easy to get caught up in the what ifs of the future. Let’s all take a moment to focus on the positives of the present 🙏🏻

I knew OTF Assembly Row was something special since the studio opened their doors in July 2017. I coached my first class on 7/14, my birthday, and for the first time was actually excited to work on my birthday! The past two and a half years have been filled with a lot of growth, learning, and excitement. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to continue to help our members reach their fitness goals and continue to build and be apart of the best community!

Hey it’s been awhile 👋🏻 I want to talk about abs!

•Want visible abs? Lift challenging weights that force you to brace your core during the exercise. Slow down your tempo during your lifts to allow your muscles to truly be engaged throughout the exercise. Eat in a calorie deficit for fat loss which will allow your abdominals to be more visible! Questions? Drop em below⬇️

Humpday focus➡️ the hip hinge!!

•The hip hinge is a KEY functional movement pattern that your body uses daily whether you realize it or not. Picking something off the ground? Sup deadlift! The deadlift (seen here) along with various other hip hinge exercises are important to master in order to build posterior strength, core strength, and stabilizers such as your hips.

•When your glutes and/or core are not activated during a hip hinge that is often when your lower back tries to take over and things can get messy! When your stabilizers are weak, your more susceptible to injury! And also... who doesn’t like to have a STRONG B***Y?!? I could go on forever about the importance of the hip hinge so before I get out of hand just want to shoutout to for adding some form of a hip hinge into all of their workouts and to all my training buddies who have helped me improve my deadlift throughout the years (still a work in progress) 💪🏻🍑. Comment below with your favorite hip hinge exercise!!

Took a billion “posed photos for the gram” but this actual true candid says it all. 1000 classes taught at which wouldn’t be possible without my amazing team and our kickass members! 🧡 The OTF community is truly the best!! (p.s. I ruined my instafeed order for this very important announcement)
