Brew ratio refers to the proportion of coffee to water used during the brewing process. This weight-based formula can be applied to any quantity whether you're preparing a single cup or a large pot.
As a general guideline, increasing the amount of coffee results in a stronger brew, while reducing it yields a lighter flavor.
For a stronger taste, consider using a ratio closer to 1:15.
If you prefer a brighter, more delicate profile, aim for a ratio of 1:18.
While 1:16 serves as an excellent starting point for coffee shops brewing large batches, fine-tuning the coffee-to-water ratio and grind size can highlight various tasting notes in your cup.
