ROSO Soccer Club

Our goal is to bring a quality soccer experience to the kids of the Somersworth and Rollinsford area.

The ROSO Soccer Club was started in 2003 by Mike Hill, former high school boys soccer coach, with the goal of developing a feeder program to improve the quality of soccer at the high school. Based on the growth of the program over the first few years, thanks to a 70 person volunteer crew, the program became a 501 (c)3 corporation with the goal of one day providing the community with an athletic fa

cility dedicated to soccer. The program offers a recreational program for boys and girls from age 5-13 as well as a higher level travel program for U10, U12 and U14 players. Since day 1 of the program we have seen the growth and success of soccer in our community. Former ROSO players have gone on to make 1st Team All-State, NH Olympic Development Program teams, divisions I, II, III college teams as well as the US U20 Women's National Team.

Yesterday was an amazing day, thank you to everyone who came out to the grand opening of the new home of ROSO Soccer Club, the Micheal L. Hill Soccer Park at Niver Field!

For those who don’t know, Mike Hill started coaching kids in our community back in the mid 1990s and established ROSO Soccer Club in 2003 with the goal of one day having a top-class field and facility dedicated to soccer. Due to Mike’s tireless dedication, passion, and commitment that day has finally come, and we couldn’t have been more pleased and excited to surprise him by naming the soccer fields in his honor. Anyone who know’s him will know that it is truly deserved. Congratulations to Mike and his family, yesterday was a day they will never forget.

In addition to Mike, this day wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of many people and we are eternally grateful and thankful for our partnership with as well as the following people and business’ who helped make this dream a reality:

You are invited to a special day of celebration with ROSO Soccer Club!

Please join us for a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony celebrating the opening of our new home soccer fields!

Thanks to a cooperative effort between Tri City Christian Academy, ROSO S.C. and many volunteers, players, parents, coaches, professionals and good people we finally have a field we can call home.

When: Saturday, August 23, 2025
Time: 10:00AM Where: 23 Tates Brook Rd. Somersworth NH (Niver Field, TCCA campus)

The celebration will include a formal ribbon-cutting, a ROSO Alumni soccer game, hot dogs, hamburgers, Kona Ice, and a gathering of our soccer community to celebrate and honor all who made this possible.

This has been a dream for 22 years and it is finally happening!

We really hope that the community and everyone who have ever been a part of the program through the years can come join us, it should be a lot of FUN!

It’s the final Saturday of our rec soccer program. The sun is rising and the temperature is sure to warm up. We can’t wait to see the kids running around showing off all the skills they developed over the past seven weeks!

Thank you to all who participated this fall, we hope everyone enjoyed the program and is excited to join us again this coming spring!

And thank you to all the parents for making this opportunity work for your daughter’s and son’s. We know it isn’t easy getting up early on a Saturday morning (especially the last few weeks when the temperature starts to drop) to get over to the field. We appreciate you all for making the effort.

It’s week 3 or rec soccer Saturday morning at Somersworth High School! There may be a few sprinkles in the air but it’s great soccer weather. Can’t wait to see all the kids running around having fun this morning.

Hello ROSO soccer friends!

Hope you all had a wonderful summer and are enjoying the start of the fall season. Just wanted to make sure everyone knows that our 8-week Fall ROSO S.C. Rec Soccer season starts this Saturday, September 7, 2024.

5/6 Year Old Age Group: 8:00 AM
7/8 Year Old Age Group: 9:00 AM
9/10/11 Year Old Age Group: 10:00 AM

Location: Somersworth High School Soccer Field (The field is located behind the school next to the softball field) - 11 Memorial Drive, Somersworth, NH

What you need:
• A proper pumped size 4 soccer ball
• Soccer shinguards are required
• Soccer cleats are not required but are recommended as some morning the grass is a little wet and with sneakers becomes slippery
• We recommend you bring a bottle of water so players can hydrate during breaks
• A good attitude and some excitement to learn the skills to play soccer

Sorry to hit you all with bad news this late on Friday night but with the rain already starting it looks like we will have to cancel rec soccer tomorrow morning.

I am working on adding Saturday, November 4th as our last Saturday of the program for the season and am waiting to hear the approval back from the SAU. I will let you all know as soon as I get the word.

Enjoy the rain this weekend and we already look forward to seeing you all next Saturday!
