Well after a long lay off I finally got back in the shop and turned out a special request for Christmas. Curly maple over cedar . Forgot how much I enjoyed it. So hopefully I'll be able to get some more ready to go after the first of the year.

Birds still flocked up here. There are Toms and hens here with one strutter it was pouring the rain at the time though. A couple days earlier ten of them were strutting around across the field.

I love the smell of sawdust in the evening.

Well after a long layoff due to equipment failure I got the sawdust a flying again this evening. Got a couple new woods to try out. Mahogany and Pecan . they sure are pretty so I hope to get a good sound out of them. Will be posting some new call pics soon.

Just letting anyone in the somerset area know that we are helping sponsor a co****le tournament for the Shopville Cheerleading Boosters on Sat. Oct. 29 at Shopville Park. Registration starts 10 am and the games will start about 11.
We are building 4 sets of co****le boards that will be sold in a silent auction during the event. There will be food and drinks and a heck of a pot for the winners .

First bird of the season hit the ground about 2:30 this afternoon. Wished I could say it came in strutting , gobbling and acting a fool but it didn't . 4 longbeards picked and scratched right up the hill to within range and one came home with me. No hens to be seen anywhere but they were still unresponsive to the calls.
