The guys were out grading prior to the weekend. I think they hit everything at least once. I was out on the WRT Saturday afternoon, and it was in great shape, at least the sections that I rode. The rain really helps the trails hold up. We're out again this week. Oh, I think I mentioned in an earlier post, that we added magnets to our dirt drag. The amount of metal crap we are picking up is amazing. We'll keep at it.

There were a lot of things going on this past weekend - Get-Er-Done had a scavenger hunt, 4 Seasons had a poker run, Taste of Barnes, and more. Hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of it.

Fourth of July is coming quickly. Make sure you come to the Solon Springs parade and then join us at the Groomer Building for some burgers, beverages, live music, and more.

Hope to see ya out there.

TRAIL CONDITIONS:
Trails are being graded weekly and are in excellent condition. You can expect puddles and mud, especially in shaded areas. Be sure to check Douglas County and the other club's websites before heading out. Respect the landowners that provide access to their land and stay on the trails. Do not drive around the gates. Obey speed limits when driving on roads. Be aware of the new ATV/UTV laws that went into effect on June 1st. Ride safe.

We finally received some much-needed rain - about a half an inch on Friday. It was just enough to knock the dust down. Some more yesterday and more in the forecast this week. Bob was out grading 35S (WRT) this morning. Hopefully, we'll have everything graded by the weekend. The trails will probably have a lot of puddles and some mud this weekend, if the forecast holds true. I'll take that any day over the nasty dust we had. We all know, it is what it is and either way, I'm riding.

Meeting tonight at the groomer building (9222 E. Park Ave.) at 7pm.

Reminder of our upcoming 4th of July celebration. Immediately following the parade, we hope you can join us for some live music, food & beverages, fun and games.

Hope to see ya out there.

Jackpine Riders would like to take a moment to thank the amazing bars in our area for supporting and hosting our meat raffles in 2025-2026. We're looking forward to future opportunities to expand and support our local businesses. Proceeds for the meat raffles go towards trail and equipment maintenance. THANK YOU!!!

It was another quiet week. Craig went out to grade the WRT last week and ended up getting a flat tire on the drag. We're not immune to getting flat tires either. Anyway, by the time he got it fixed, the day was pretty much shot. He did take a few minutes to stop and hang the JPR Sponsor sign at Soft Pines. It looks great!

Some of us rode down toward Hayward on Saturday and the WRT wasn't too bad, just a little chatter-bumpy. The dust on the other hand, was terrible! You had to stay a long way behind the buggy in front of you. It's part of the deal though - getting dirty. Hopefully we'll get the rain that's in the forecast. We'll try to get out and grade this week but it's really not a fun job when it's this dry and dusty. Again, hopefully it rains.

Preparations for the 4th of July are really getting into swing. You'll begin seeing posters and such going up around the area. Join us at the groomer building after the parade for some live music by Prank Williams, food & beverages, games and raffles.

It's June - let's ride. Hope to see ya out there.

With the holiday, it was a busy weekend out on the trails. We were fortunate to have received a little spotty rain here and there. It helped the trails to hold up and knocked the dust down. Riding Saturday was awesome! I went out yesterday and rode the WRT. Despite the heavy traffic, the trail was in good condition. There's no rain in the forecast though. We'll go out and grade, but it may not hold up very well. We'll just hope we don't go back to red flag conditions. It's green enough that I don't think we will, but you never know. Keep an eye out for us on the trails.

It was great to see so many people out on the trails riding and supporting all the local businesses. They need our support too. Let's ride!

Hope to see ya out there.

Not much going on this week. Douglas County Forestry closed the trails on Friday due to the red flag warnings issued by the DNR. We couldn't do any trail work as was the case with many counties and clubs. The trails in Douglas County did re-open yesterday since we received some much-needed rain. Hopefully, they'll be able to stay open. We're out grading trails now, so they should be in good shape for the holiday weekend. No trail projects this weekend as we expect heavy traffic on the trails. Just planning on riding.

Our next event will be on July 4th immediately following the parade. Hope you can join us for some live music, food & beverages, games, raffles and fun!

Ride mindful of the conditions - Happy Memorial Weekend.
Hope to see ya out there.

Trail Closure Alert - effective immediately, per Douglas County Forestry, all ATV/UTV trails in Douglas County are closed due to the red flag fire danger until further notice.

****UPDATE**** 5/18/26
The recent rain has helped the fire danger and most of our trails are open once again. Please see our most recent post at Douglas County Forestry Department for the updated and map.

It was a pretty quiet week, trail-wise. I guess there were reports on Facebook last week that said the trails were closed. Sorry I didn't see them. Even though I write this post, I'm not much of a Facebook guy. Believe me though, if the trails were to close, Douglas County Forestry would let us know. They would post them as "closed" and so would we, along with the other clubs in the county. All that aside, the trails may still close due to a red flag warning. Any time there is a change to the trails, we'll post something as soon as possible. Stay tuned to Douglas County Forestry as well. Other than that, trails are dry and dusty. Surprisingly though, I went out to check some of the swamps in our gated sections and they are full of water! Hope we get some rain soon to knock down the dust and lower the fire danger. We're anxious to get out and do some trail work. Keep an eye out for us.

We hosted our final bingo at the community center last week. Thank you to everyone that participated and showed their support. Bingo will resume in the fall, and we plan to be there.

We'll be hosting a 4th of July event immediately following the Solon Springs parade. We'll have live music by Prank Williams, food & beverages, games and raffles. It'll be fun for the entire family.

Hope to see ya out there.
