It was a busy weekend for riding. There were a lot of people out enjoying the trails and supporting the local businesses. It was awesome. We had a little rain prior to the weekend which knocked down the dust, for a little while. It was back to dusty by mid-day. But it's part of the deal.

Other than grading, the only work we completed last week was replacing a couple boards on Twin Bridges. Maybe this week we'll get some brush mowing started.

A few of us from the club are going out to the Black Hills next week for some riding. So, the next report will be from there. The weather looks good (maybe a little on the cooler side) and it should be a good trip.

I'd like to go to Hay Days, but I guess I'll miss it this year. It's a fun event (kinda like the state fair) this coming weekend. Lots of good wheelin' left. Hope you get out and enjoy it.

Check out our website (https://www.jackpineriders.com/) for the link to Jackpine Riders Merchandise Store.

Hope to see ya ou there.

TRAIL CONDITIONS:
Trails are being graded weekly. Some areas are very chatter-bumpy, especially in the sugar sand or at intersections. With overnight rain, there may be puddles in the woods. Be sure to check Douglas County and the other club's websites before heading out. Respect the landowners that provide access to their land. Do not drive around the gates. Obey speed limits when driving on roads. Be aware of the new ATV/UTV laws that went into effect on June 1st. Ride safe. Stay on the trails or stay home.

It's the first day of fall today. That means only a little over 100 days until (possible) snowmobile trail opening. It's getting closer. Hay Days is only 2 weeks away.

We finally received some much-needed rain late last Tuesday, some more on Saturday morning, and a little bit more on Sunday night. We didn't get much but it was enough to knock down the dust for a little while. We'll take all we can get.

This week, we have a couple more deck boards to replace out on Trail 5 on Twin Bridges Rd. Then we'll switch to mowing and signing. Keep an eye out for us working on the trails.

It doesn't feel like fall around here with the temps in the 80's but we know it's coming. It's starting to look like fall with some of the leaves changing. Wheelin' is still good!

Reminder - if you haven't done it yet, renew your club membership and get your discounted trail passes.

Hope to see ya out there.

Well, the rain missed us again.

The club ride on Saturday was great! We had a beautiful day with a light breeze to help blow the dust away. We had a few new people join us and join the club. Welcome and thank you to Jason, Mandy, and Matthew for spending the day with us.

If you're out riding, check out 41N from Paske Bridge to Gregerson Rd. Forestry has been hauling in gravel to make a nice trail and get us out of the bad wet spots that always get torn up. From there you can continue out to Lucas Rd. That section will remain as it, although we may have to fix a couple of low spots.

Fall is in the air around here in the mornings with cooler temps. We even have a few trees that are starting to change. Winters coming.

Still plenty of time to ride - hope to see ya out there.

We were finally able to get a few things done last week. We rode out into a few of the gated areas to check to see if the beavers were active and doing any damage. Everything looked good but we have a couple more places to check. Wow - are the weeds high! Some of them are 3-4 feet tall. We'll get out and start mowing over the next few weeks. Next, we did some bridge inspections. It seemed like they all needed some minor attention/repairs where boards were popped up or broken, or railings needing some minor work. We do our best to stay on top of it, but sometimes it feels like a never-ending job.

Reminder to pay your club membership, if you haven't done so yet. With Hay Days less than a month away, winters coming.

Riding is good but it is super dusty. It seems like it just doesn't want to rain more than a few sprinkles. As the weathermen say, "we'll take what we can get".

Hope to see ya out there.

It was another beautiful weekend for riding. We received a little spotty rain on Friday. Some areas got a good soaking, others not so much. We'll take what we can get. Traffic seemed a bit light again.

We completed our gravel project at the St. Croix Bridge. The approaches to the bridge were getting a little severe, so a couple of loads from Solon Springs Concrete did the trick. After that, we headed south on the WRT to do some repairs where people are going on the backside of the signs we put in on private landowner's property. We thought the signs would be enough to keep people out of there. I don't know what we'll have to do next - maybe boulders, maybe landmines. I wish people would just stay on the trail. On to the next project...

Last reminder - RSVP by tomorrow, Aug. 12th for the club ride on the 22nd.

Club meeting is tonight at 7pm at the Groomer Building, 9222 E. Park Ave.

Hope to see ya out there.

It was a nice weekend for riding. We received a little rain on Friday. It wasn't much, but enough to knock down the dust on Saturday. Sunday was back to the same, very dusty. I guess we take what we can get. Traffic must have been pretty light. The trails in our area held up just fine. I asked around at a few bars, and they all said it was a pretty light weekend.

We didn't get our gravel project done last week. Everyone is busy with different things and it's hard to get it all lined up. We're hoping to get to it this week.

Lakes Gas, one of our Gold Sponsor's received and hung their sponsorship plaque. It looks great hanging on their wall!

Reminder: Club ride is on August 22nd and RSVPs are due by August 12th.

The wheelin's good - let's ride.
Hope to see ya out there.

It seems like it was a quiet weekend out riding the trails. We headed over to Iron River on Saturday for the Blueberry Festival, and we only saw a handful of other wheelers out riding. I don't know if it was the heat or the dust, maybe the combination of both. It was very dusty!

We did a re-gravel project on the WRT down by the Steel Horse Saloon. It's an area that keeps washing out. We gave it a couple loads from Solon Springs Concrete and created a nice crown. Hopefully, it holds up now. We're looking to get another gravel project done this week on the approaches to the St. Croix bridge on the WRT. Keep an eye out for us - and please, slow down.

We've had some feedback that the link for our new merchandise store hasn't been working. We'll put it here and see if it works - https://jackpineridersclub.itemorder.com/shop/home/ Sorry for the inconvenience (appreciate the feedback).

Club ride on August 22nd - we're meeting at 9:30am at the Groomer Building - reminder RSVPs are due by August 12th.

Trails are being graded weekly, but we need some rain, bad. I think I mentioned - it's really dusty.

Just think, only 125 days until December 1st.
Let's ride! Hope to see ya out there.

It was an interesting weather week last week. We had extreme heat and humidity, then we had the smoke and low visibility from the forest fires and followed by a monsoon of rain.

We just have to suffer through the heat and think about the fact that winter isn't that far away. The smoke was unreal - most of us have never experienced anything like it. Visibility was about a quarter mile, and it sure did stink! Then we had the monsoon rain, accompanied with wind. We got about an inch of rain in Solon Springs in about an hour. It resulted in a few small trees down and some washouts on the WRT. We cleared all the trees on Saturday and repaired the washouts Sunday, but now we need to add some gravel to the trail. Keep an eye out for us this week on the trail.

If you haven't done it yet, now is the time to renew your club membership. You don't want to wait until it's too late to get your discounted trail pass.

We've got a couple of fun events coming up - we're planning a wheeler club ride on Aug. 22nd, and our hayride is scheduled for Oct. 3rd. More details to come.

Lots of time to ride - hope to see ya out there.

Wow - is it hot out! Makes me look forward to 20 degree days and the nice snowmobile trails. Hopefully, it's in about 22 weeks or so.

We haven't gotten to any trail projects yet; weather is a constant factor. It also seems everyone is busy with trips, vacations, graduations, and so on. We'll have a discussion and maybe make some project decisions at the meeting tonight.

We've been out grading and we've received enough rain to help them hold up. Although the rain forecast for this week isn't looking good.

I forgot to send a shout out, THANK YOU, to Jonnie D. for his donation of the Snap-On Firepit for our July 4th fundraiser. It was very much appreciated.

Meeting is tonight at the Groomer Building (9222 E. Park) at 7pm.

Hope to see ya out there.
