This is the Southcentral Alaska emergency orders concerning salmon fishing for the upcoming season. Where I live I've circled the closures and restrictions in my area. This is very, very sad to me. Especially the King Salmon closures. I feel blessed that I ever even got to be a witness to these amazing fish. I only caught around 10 Kings off of the Kenai river my first few seasons before I started realizing that this fishery was in danger. I refuse to fish them at all now and haven't in over a decade. The Kenai river is especially sad because the river is home to the genetics of the largest King Salmon in the entire river. It used to be home to well over 100lb fish. Not anymore. Hopefully we can get a handle on this situation. But it looks bleak from what I've witnessed as far as fisheries management is concerned.

Today was smoking hot fishing on the Kenai. Sockeyes came in thick. I'm gonna guess 73,000 fish came up today. But won't know until tomorrow.
( There's only 1 rock sticking out of that entire length of bank, and I forgot it was behind me.
And I was sober)😆😉
