Soldotna Alyeska Ski Trip

A reminder to be there at (AATC) 6:30 am tomorrow (Monday). Bring warm clothes for on the bus, often times they are pretty cold.

Also Alyeska has become a little bit of a pain about leaving gear in the daylodge. Try to keep your stuff as contained as possible.

We will stop by the girdwood gas station when done. We usually run to the pizza shop there for our dinner (pizza by the slice).

Temps are supposed to be around zero. Face masks are needed!

A few things that I wanted to reach out to you for. First, news will travel fast. Today the District officially terminated me. I will not be back in school until I appeal and I am reinstated. This is in relation to my car accident over seven years ago and our health insurance. I am including the link here in case you are wondering what it is about you can take a look for more information (and know you kids are safe).

The ski trip is still happening as planned. I had a feeling they would do this right before Christmas and that led me to making sure it was not considered a school trip. This is obviously devastating to my family but the best therapy is to be around my family and the students I love.

Please plan on meeting at the All American Athletic Training Center located on the Spur Hwy. on Monday at 6:30 am.

Please make sure you have all of your appropriate gear, it looks like it is going to be cold according to the forecast. Also, make sure you either have lunch or money for one. We will plan on stopping by the gas station on the way home.

Please make sure parents have their phones on throughout the day so that in case of an injury we can contact you.

I expect we will be home around 8:30 pm (back at the training center).

If you paid by credit card on your form, please check your email for an invoice that will ask you for your credit card information. It now requires information to process the credit cards that I did not ask for on the forms, paying through this invoice is the easiest way to get it done. We will not double charge you!

I sent an email to everyone on the trip with a list of students going. If you think you are going but didn't receive the email, please contact me to confirm.

If you paid by credit card, check your email and you will see a link to enter your card information. Our program changed and now requires more information than was on the form.

This is the quickest way for me to get this done. I am still entering them, so it may take a bit before you see it in your email.

Please send your forms in asap. I am entering them into the computer now. Need to get them to Alyeska by Monday.

Some people have expressed concern about emailing credit card numbers. You can also send the forms with your kid to school and have them give them to me (Mr. Fischer) with cash or check (Matthew Fischer).

These are huge savings! You can get tickets for your whole family for Monday the 19th - Families of Skyview Middle and SOHI Students only. You would pick them up from us at the day lodge. Just fill out a packet for each person (no they don't have to ride the bus).

These will not be given out in school since this is not school sponsored. Please share with anyone that may have a student at Skyview or a Freshman or Sophomore at SOHI.

I will have the paperwork coming out soon! Just got off the phone with them. We will get group rates for lift and rentals, but since it is Christmas Vacation, we will not be able to get lessons. Hopefully will have another trip for first timers.

Bus fee will be $40 for the charter busses.

In the past I had donations to help fill gaps. We don't have access to that money since it is outside of school. This is really helpful for the bus fees as that amount is based on a full bus. I will create a GoFundMe account for those that want to donate. I was hoping to get the kids that have never gone before on this trip, but it will have to be the next one (I don't trust their friends to "teach" them).
