Flatout is owned and operated by Captain Darrin LaChance who holds a master captains license with inshore and offshore certificates in all of the Great Lakes. Having a summer cottage in Sodus Point allowed for him to chase trout and salmon out of Sodus Bay starting at a very young age. Captain Darrin has spent thousand of hours fishing Lake Ontario for world class king salmon and trout. His hard w

ork, top notch skill and equipment and need for putting fish on the deck is sure to make a great trip for all, keeping safety first for captain, crew and customers. Other experiences -With over 10 years as a world champion offshore power boat racer with speeds of 120 – 170 MPH you will see he loves and respects the water in all different ways. Salt water experiences – Off season when not fishing Lake Ontario Darrin continues to sharpen his skills with countless days and nights hundreds of miles offshore chasing Pelagics from the South East coast to the Bahamas.

Wrapping up August…. with great pics of some of our bigger kings! Everybody did a great job handling and landing these fish.

We also had an unexpected catch when I noticed something dragging and tailing under the boat. I was shocked when I saw the red, white and blue with a pole attached hung up on my rudder. The pole survived a few prop marks but the flag was uninjured. I put it in a rod holder, it was perfect timing seeing it was the week before labor day.
