Rounds 1 & 2 of the Champ Off-Road season are in the books.

Practice and qualifying went well. It took a little time to shake the rust off since I hadn’t driven the car since halfway through last season.

Saturday’s race was a tough one. We had a good start, but a small issue forced us into the pits on lap two. We were able to get back out on the lead lap and catch back up during the comp caution. In the second half, passing was tough on the tight track, and we got caught up in a pileup that bent the tie rod and locked up the front left wheel, ending our day early with a DNF.

Sunday was a much better day. After getting bottled up by mistakes in front of me at the start, we were nearly dead last after turn two. We kept working forward, got more comfortable in the car every lap, and fought our way back to a P6 finish.

The car feels way better than it did last year with the changes we made, and I’m excited to keep building confidence, push harder, and keep improving as the season goes on.

Wheatland’s purpose-built off-road course made a statement in its 2025 debut, featuring massive jumps and wide-open racing that challenged drivers and thrilled fans. Hey Green Bay and surrounding communities!
We’ve been sharing a lot of our recent projects, but I want to take a moment to officially introduce JG Property Works LLC.

My name is Jacob Gille, owner of JG Property Works. Alongside an incredible crew, we specialize in landscaping and tree removal, bringing hard work, creativity, and pride into every job we take on.

A little about me: I have always enjoyed working outside. Life led me into the landscaping and lawn care industry, where I spent 9 years during and after college learning the trade and building a passion for helping people bring their outdoor visions to life. This past weekend I was finally able to line up for my first ATV race of the year! 🏁

My goal going in was just to take it easy and finish — an hour and a half on the quad is a lot after not riding for a year a year or so. With some solid riding (and a little luck with others running into mechanicals issues), I was able to bring home 2nd place in the AA class! 💪🔥

The plan now is to hit two more races this year and finish the 2025 season strong at the legendary Ironman GNCC.

Crandon Recap
Crandon International Raceway didn’t go as planned. We came into the weekend excited to hit the track with a fresh motor, but after practice was canceled Thursday, we went straight into qualifying. Just as I was starting to feel comfortable in the car again, we lost third gear. We thought we had the parts to fix it, but once things went back together we found more issues—and that unfortunately ended our season early.

I spent the rest of the weekend being a hot pit slut, and even though racing didn’t go our way, we still had a great time with family and friends.

Huge thanks to Scott and Ryan Schwalbe for doing everything they could to get us back on track.

It’s been a rough two years, and while our plans for next season aren’t set yet, we’ll see what the future brings.
