Clean sweep for the opening week of school for our Lady Spartans Fastpitch teams. High school and Middle School teams all came away victorious (all 5 teams)!

Our JV Lady Spartans used a late surge Friday evening to push past the Kennesaw Mountain Lady Mustangs thanks to a big fifth inning.

The Spartans scored seven runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat Kennesaw Mountain 10-3 on Friday. Maddie Tasker singled, scoring two runs, Ella Hammers singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Harper DeBusk grounded out, scoring one run, and Nava Turner drew a walk, scoring one run.

Kennesaw Mountain jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning, however the defense locked in and shut down the Mustangs the rest of the way.

Campbell tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a single by Violet Chenot, and a double by Kendall Abney.

Abney earned the win for the Spartans as she recorded her first High School win, as a pitcher. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two.

Out Spartans accumulated 11 hits in the game. Tasker, Nadia Barbour, Hammers, Chenot, and Abney each collected two hits for Campbell JV Spartans. Hammers led Campbell JV Spartans with two runs batted in. The left fielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Turner paced the team with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Barbour stole three bases, leading the Spartans, who ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven tolen bases for the game.

Next up for the Campbell JV Spartans is a game at Walton Junior Varsity Raiders on Monday.

Our Lady Spartans took the opener at Kell 4-2 in extra innings as they overcame an early 2-run deficit. The defense locked down the game after the 3rd with five straight scoreless innings to secure the win.

At the plate, the Campbell bats got hot late and the Spartans out-hit Kell 7-5. Kell threw their ace against our girls but it wasn't enough as Gigi Denis knocked in the winning run in the top of the 8th with a line drive triple to right field, scoring pinch runner Sabrina Skripko. Aidan Bewley singled on a hard ground ball up the middle to score Denis one batter later.

Freshman, Kendall Abney, robbed a home run in the bottom of the 8th as she leapt over the left field wall to steal a well hit ball from Alabama commit, Lyla Morici.

Evelyn Herrington picked up the win in the circle as she allowed 1 earned run in 8 innings pitched. Kadence Klein called a masterful game behind the plate, stymying the Kell lineup with well framed drop balls, screw balls and curves.

Harper MacDonald, Corinne Newton, Carter Smith, Kadence Klein, and Addison Smith each added hits for the Spartans. Mya Boucher plated the tying run in the top of the 5th on a hard hit ball by Aubrey Headd that handcuffed Kell's 2nd baseman, knotting the game at 2 runs apiece.

Quick shout out to one of our local teams that is STILL undefeated at PGF Nationals out in California this week. 6 of the 9 girls who are out in Cali this week will be playing on our very own Jr Spartans Gold - East team this Fall.

Tune into Gamechanger to watch them in the winner's bracket this evening at 5:45pm!
