Lately my studio has been moving outside.

Since moving back to Austin, I’ve been riding my bike down to Lady Bird Lake with my art supplies and sketching along the hike & bike trail. It’s been such a fun way to combine two things I love — adventure and art — and I’m filling sketchbooks with new ideas.
I’ve also been having a great time cycling Austin’s trails with elementary school kids and coaching pickleball with my friend Allison Phillips and her team at Austin Youth Fitness.

Hello again, Austin. 🌆💛
After selling the Lumberyard and closing a meaningful chapter in Smithville, I’m back in the city that has inspired my art for decades. I’m now in the heart of downtown, steps from the hike-and-bike trail — and feeling lots of gratitude, possibility, and joy.

My first night back was spent with my son, Paul Ray, who brought flowers and wine and helped me toast this big transition.

Life is wild and beautiful, and I’m so grateful for all the support and friendship in Smithville and Austin and beyond, and the magical journey.✨

This piece is built from photos I’ve taken around Austin over the last 20 years — layered, mixed, and woven together into one big love letter to the city. ❤️

Every time I look at it, I spot a new little surprise… and I get that familiar tug of missing Austin in all its weird, wonderful energy.
