THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 19.
11:00 am to 12:30pm

Anyone (young, old, male or female, established player, former player or would like to be a player) this is YOUR DAY. Starting at 11am until 12:30 we are hosting an ALL COMERS game. All you need is comfortable clothes and shoes. We have the bats (reproduction 1860's wooden bats), balls (reproduction lemon peel base balls), bases and the place to play.
Game site is the open field behind the Smithville Inn and across from the Historical Church of God (147 N. Milton St., Smith, Ohio)
Come out and enjoy some base ball according to the rules of the 1860's.
Oh, one thing,
NO GLOVES NEEDED OR USED.
We hope you can come over and enjoy a game of base ball as it started.

The Smithville Stars will be playing a game this Saturday, August 12, in Kidron, OH at 1:00 PM. Anyone who plays vintage base ball or has seen it played and said to yourself, “This game looks fun and I would like to play, but don’t know who to talk to about playing.” Hey this is your opportunity. Either show up to Sonnenberg Village in Kidron on Hackett Road or send a message below and we can get you set up.

If you can’t make it this Saturday but would really like to play. Lucky you, there is another opportunity next Saturday, August 19 in Smithville. The Smithville Stars will have an All-Comers game at 11 AM. What’s an all-comers game? Anyone who wants to play and learn the game of base ball played with the rules from the 1860’s are invited to play.

Below is the Smithville Stars 2023 Schedule. It is a light schedule this year. Must be because it takes longer for us to recover between games as we grow a year older. Half of our team is over the age of 50. It is a great game to play though.

Home Games

May 21 v. Canal Fulton Mules, 2 PM
June 17 v. Wyandotte Ghostriders, 1 PM
July 16 v. Mansfield Independents, 2 PM
August 19 v. All Comers game, 11 AM

Away Games

June 4 - Mayorś Cup, Upper Sandusky, 10 AM and Noon
July 8 - Canal Days, Canal Fulton, 1 PM
August 12 - Sonnenberg Days, Kidron, 1 PM

As always, our home games coincide with the Smithville Community Historical Societyś open house. The Historical Society has many buildings and barns and weaving mill from the 1800ś. There is plenty to do and see during our home games.

This photo was taken 7 years ago at League Park in Cleveland, OH. It was the home for the Cleveland Indians in the early 1900's. The Stars will take the field at League Park again this year. We play October 1. Come see this historic field in Cleveland.
