Introduction to Sailing Course Registration link below. Offered in June by Paradise Point Yacht Club, Smithville Lake. Registration through Parkhill Community Education. Minimum age 18, requires moderate physical activity.

Introduction to Sailing course is designed for those with little to no sailing experience, and want a hands-on course in a safe & fun environment. Learn important vocabulary, safety skills, weather awareness, steering, and sailing maneuvers. Course combines 6 hours of classroom instruction and 9 hours of on the water hands on sailing in which you’ll be sailing with instructors on 22’ - 34’ boats. Classroom dates: June 4,11,19. On the water sailing dates June 6,13,20. Cost $275. If interested email [email protected]. Registration is expected to open 9 am May 4th.

Dates are set for our very popular sailing course. This Introduction to Sailing course is designed for those with little to no sailing experience, and want a hands-on course to learn the fundamentals in a safe and fun environment. Two members of PPYC just completed sailing across the Atlantic. Members Dave & Steve joined an international crew aboard this 68ft. Swan, Aphrodite. The voyage of close to 3,000nm took 19 days to complete. To all local sailors, blue water sailing is a possibility. PPYC has many members that have sailed beyond the horizon, from bareboating in the Caribbean, Apostle Islands, San Juan Islands, and to even to selling it all and moving to a live-aboard lifestyle. Check out our club. If you've ever considered learning to sail, we offer a sailing course every June. Jump right in, sailing is a sport for a lifetime.
