Wayne County Center for the Martial Arts Smithville Kwanmukan We offer karate, ju jitsu, and tai chi classes for children and adults. He has been practicing martial arts for 42 years.

The Wayne County Center for the Martial Arts Smithville Kwanmukan is led by Shihan Michael Antonides. Shihan holds the following:

6 Dan Karate
6 Dan Jujitsu
5 Dan Taiho Jitsu
3 Dan Taekwondo

Sensei Howard Funk, a 2nd Dan Karate, is also an instructor. He has 36 years of experience in the martial arts and has practiced in both Japan and Korea. Class Fees

Little Dragons $50/month
Karate $25/month
Taiho Jutsu Self Defense $50/month


Save 10 percent with a six month membership. Family Membership ( 2 or more Family Members sign up) can also save 10 percent.

We are starting a new self defense class for July. This is a four week session starting July 2. Classes are Tuesdays from 5 to 5:45 PM at Green Township Community and Preservation Society at 148 South Milton Street in Smithville.

For ages 15 and older. $50 per person or $75 for 2 members of the same family.

This is a great class for teens heading to college or anyone who wants to learn self defense skills.

Wish Emily, Alyssa, and Joellen good luck. They will be competing at the 41st national Mountain State karate championship this Saturday, April 23 in Charleston, West Virginia. They will be competing with open hand kata, weapons kata, and point sparring. This is the fourth tournaments that they’ve competed in in in the last six months and hope to do well.
