At Shoot for the Stars, gymnastics is the exciting foundation, but the learning goes far beyond rolls, jumps and balance beams. Our age-appropriate themes and activities are intentionally designed to help children develop important skills that prepare them for preschool, kindergarten, future sports and everyday life.

📣❤️ WHAT A WEEK with Smithville Youth Cheerleading! ❤️📣
We had an absolute BLAST spending last week with the Smithville Youth Cheerleading squads! From stunts and tumbling to jumps, dances, motions and everything in between, these girls worked hard, learned a TON, and brought so much energy into the gym every single day. ⭐️

And we have to take a minute to brag on their Youth Cheer coaches. Before camp even began, we had the opportunity to spend several hours working with them, and we were so impressed by how invested they are in these athletes. They asked questions, took notes, paid attention to the little details and were genuinely eager to learn anything that could help their girls improve. It is VERY obvious how much they care about creating a great experience for their cheerleaders, and Smithville Youth Cheer is in some pretty wonderful hands. ❤️

We were also incredibly lucky to have five SHS Varsity Cheerleaders — all former SFTS gymnasts and current members of our SFTS staff — coaching alongside us all week! 📣⭐️

They did an AMAZING job demonstrating skills, teaching new dances, working on stunts, tumbling and jumps, and giving the younger girls some pretty awesome role models to look up to. The youth cheerleaders absolutely loved having them there — and we heard over and over from their coaches how much they appreciated having the varsity girls demonstrate, teach and work directly with their squads.

There was something pretty special about watching our Smithville High School cheerleaders pour into the next generation of Smithville cheerleaders. ❤️

And apparently none of us are ready for it to be over… 😂
After talking with the Youth Cheer coaches, we've already decided that Cheer Camp at SFTS is officially becoming an ANNUAL event! 🎉🙌

We couldn't be more excited to continue working together, building these athletes' skills and confidence, supporting their coaches, and helping make an already great Smithville Youth Cheer program even stronger.

Thank you to the athletes, coaches and families for trusting us with your girls. We absolutely loved having you at Shoot for the Stars and can't wait to do it all again next year! ⭐️❤️📣
