Mason Martial Arts Academy Since 1988, Mason Martial Arts Academy has provided Shorin-ryu Shorinkan Karate instruction in Smithfield, VA.

We are committed to offering high-quality, inclusive, and affordable martial arts education for the entire community. Kyoshi Vernon Mason has been teaching for over 30+ years Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate. Kyoshi Mason is also the 1st Professional Karate Association Bantam Weight World Champion Kick Boxer. He opened his 1st karate school in 1988 in Hampton moving to Yorktown, VA in 1991. After moving

to Smithfield he closed his school in Yorktown in 2006. He has over 100 black belts and desires to continue to produce positive role models and help develop their paths to strong and prosperous futures.
