Race weekend recap! Friday Jordan went up to meridian for the annual dairy days event to participate in the 1,000$ to win mini stock event. Started the day off with a PB in practice by two tenths and qualified 8th out of a strong field of minis. Finished 6th in the heat. Got stuck and couldn't go anywhere. Started 14th in the main. He started making his way up through the field but got caught in a caution. Had to pull off the track to fix damage and got sent to the rear. The rest of the main he logged some decent laps and was able to come home 9th! It was a fun day of racing overall.
Saturday both Jon and Jordan went to twin falls to partake in the Prelude to the Dream 50! Jordan started off the day with some decent speed in first practice and a car he felt could be a contender for the main. Unfortunately the alternator shorted out after first practice and ruined most of the wiring which ended his day after it barely got started.
Jon started off the day getting better and better every time he hit the track. He qualified 18th out of a tough 24 car field. He started 2nd in the heat and took the lead quickly. A couple fast cars were on his tail when he got out of shape going into one and fell back to 4th and finished there. Main event time came around and Jon had a good spot starting near the front! An early caution took 1st and 2nd out which put Jon in 1st on the restart! He ran away on the restart and was able to lead a few laps. He was holding off some very fast cars and was able to finish with a top 10! Unfortunately his transponder wasn't working very well but we think he came home 9th or 10th. It was a very successful weekend for J Squared Racing all things considered. Look for us next in California for the Dream 100!
